1. Stagger planting times. 2. Grow indeterminate tomatoes if you want unlimited. Grow determinate if using container. 3. Use minimum 5 gallon container 4. Pruning - Prune lower leaves slowly 5. Mulch garden beds 6. Diseases come regularly in your area, so journal diseases. 7. Always test spray (temperature matters) 8. Stake your tomatoes using vertical poles or cages. 9. How to use Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate of 1-2 tbsp per gallon). Don't overuse 10. Two kinds of fertilisers (sol. And insol.). Insoluble are slow-release, and soluble are fast-release. Use both. 11. If you use synthetic fertilisers, try get it down to 5-5-5 (may want to use if there was disease or stress recently, etc.) 12. Try get it to 5-5-5, and a little more phosphorus and potassium later on 13. Container mix using at least 50% peat moss/coco coir 14. Heirloom is around 50-100 years old. If you save seeds, you are going to get same plant. If you seed hybrid, you won't get same plant. 15. Keep a schedule and routine. Don't "over-love" them.

My Gramps and Great Grandma were amazing Gardner’s. I killed everything I touched until 7 yrs ago and now I’ve inherited a green thumb, hmmm I guess I needed to wait till I turned 50. I’ve so enjoyed watching your videos and plan to start a garden. We live in Texas on a lake and it is so hot here. We also have well water so it’ll be interesting to see how my garden turns out after watching many of your videos. What do you use naturally to kill the pests and deceases? I also have seen people put used coffee grinds in their tomato plants and they grow huge, tasty and absolutely beautiful. Have you heard of using coffee grinds? I can’t wait to see what I come up after watching your videos. Thank you for sharing! A subscriber for life 🤗

50 makes us wiser. Thanks for subscribing. If you search coffee grinds on my channel you will find a video or 2 but basically it is compost. Make tons of compost and your garden will be amazing. I am just starting my compost this year. When it comes to types of stakes, I went with a 3/4 inch diameter pvc pipe cut to 8 feet. If I need to lengthen it, I will just connect a straight pipe joiner to the current pipe and then connect another piece of pipe to the other end of the joiner.

The biggest difference between the two is that the “organic” feeds the soil that eventually feeds the plant. The quick acting inorganic is taken up quicker in the plants. If used frequently can build up the salts in the soil and it does nothing to build the soil and feed it.

Great video brother, I ordered a few seeds front your web site. I have learned so much from your videos. I am doing this for my Mother as she loves tomatoes and had always wanted me to grow them. I tried in the past but we do not get enough sunlight in our back yard to grow them. I am growing them on my patio and have plans of supplementing the light with artificial lighting. I have plans of 3 way. Hydroponics, Aero Aqua and with Fox Farm soils. See what happens.

Try 3/4 inch electric conduit. I initially tried 10 ft lengths and screwed hose clamps every foot to hold 5 ft lengths for horizontal supports that are added as plant grows. I found I like 5 ft length with coupler to top so additional height can be added if needed. They dont rust or rot and can be cut to size needed. Cost around $2 for 10 feet.

Regarding succession planting...by the time my pruned indeterminates reach the top of the stake, they are looking pretty beat up. I allow a sucker to start growing about midway up the vine, and when the old vine stops producing I cut it off. All the strength goes into the healthy sucker, and I have a whole new vine that produces to the end of the season.
