Interestingly, rock from the Midcontinent Rift System was found in Texas's Franklin Mountains and it is a match for rock found in Antarctica (Coates Land). So we know they were connected at some point.

Nothing. The earth has had less CO2 and more CO2 throughout history. The earth will adapt, however it's the fast change where evolution fails to have time to adapt where the danger lies.

Im not sure what Antarctica that cold desert is, is it a landscape or just an area what diffrent countries like Russia, Usa, United Kingdom, Eu and some other countries owns. Antarctica is an awesome cold icy place in the southest pole on Earth with an ice and pinguings but amazing discoveries too. Most interested and amazed discoveries from Antarctica in my opinion are these: The blood falls, an Icefingers of death, a mammoths in frozened ice, a Natzies or an aliens base up on the snowy mountains and the BIG The deep South Pole hole what might leads a way to the Agartha what is a secret world where lives another civilization like aliens in there.
