Jag you forgot to mention when to start the fall garden. I will watch it again but I didn't hear it at first listen
@susiedbc
@susiedbc 3 жыл бұрын
RancisGamer you will need to look up your first frost date for where you live. Then count backwards for when to plant. He has said ‘plant x weeks before first frost date’ for each plant. So you need to calculate that. It might be too hot to plant too much earlier than that.

I just found your videos a couple of days ago. Love your enthusiasm and thank you for being very informative but also for delivering the information without loads of waffle. I see so many videos which are 15 minutes long with about 5 minutes of actual information. I have been growing Longevity spinach all summer from shoots but you have inspired me to plant a proper vegetable garden after 10 years of procrastination. Cheers mate!

🇨🇦 🍁 Up here in Canada, there is not too much you can grow late in the fall. Garlic cloves however are best planted around the first frost date, a thump deep and a handspan apart. Kale varieties and swiss chard can still be harvested late in November, despite of mild frost. Same with radishes, cabbages, and cauliflower greens, all good and very hardy. I thing collard greens might be on that list too. Carrots as well can be harvested late in the fall. If you have a cold frame, or a green house, you can extend the growing season on both ends. Some things amazingly can survive winter with enough mulch and a good cold frame.❄⛄❄☃️❄

Since last autumn I started gardening and directly went with broccoli, cabbage and cauliflowers. Got a good yield but man dealing with pests and bugs was so tiring.. especially the green caterpillars were pain in the ass to deal with. This time not going to grow any brassicas. It's not worth the hassle plus the downside is you get only one vegetable per crop (except broccoli where you can harvest little ones later)
