The mere fact that he his able to play it is amazing, you have to play it over and over and over to play something, a few misses here and there are nothing compared to all the work he has done to get there in the first place !

Although a great performance he cut most notes short by not holding them for their full duration. Still a marvelous completion however there is plenty of room for improvement.

While I felt bad for him about that, it seems one guy stopped in surprise, but the boy noticed that and it made him nervous and threw his playing off a bit, so the guy decided to walk away because I think he didn't want to make the boy nervous. I have no doubt this kid can play this perfectly in his living room, but naturally the eyes of strangers would make anyone playing such a complicated piece nervous.

The thing is - even thought there was no crowd, people stopping by probably made the boy more nervous and caused him to make mistakes. He's really good (unbelievably good for a 15yo) - but he still made mistakes (100% expected, it's a random public piano and and an extremely difficult piece). And I can assure you he can hear his every mistake and thinks that others can too (even though usually they can't) - which probably stresses him out xd

Eh - it's at St Pancras International, there are about three public pianos - you get used to people playing decently when you go through there every day.

Rush E in its full version is unplayable solo - someone worked out that to actually play it, you need 9 pianos, 22 pianists, and 2 engines (blocks of wood you can use to strike multiple keys at once). You *can* make rush e easier to play, but you can also make it harder, by playing more or less of the original. Thats why it is 'the hardest song in the world' - because technically it is impossible.

this video shows the possible version and even after everything, no fake notes, no easy version, it's still not the hardest "impossible song" there is a whole genre of this type of music called "black midi" which is just soulless remixes of other songs but with note spam rush e is just the most popular

When Yuja Wang played the 5 Rachmaninoff concertos back to back, the fact that she did so without sheet music is probably the least impressive part of that momentous achievement.
