It is quite striking that the majority of the deaths were cancers of the throat, lungs and pancreas. Everyone smoked back in the day when actors were required to have deep voices.

I was in the 1979 Columbia Pictures Movie Skatetown USA, along with Patrick Swayze, his first movie. Patrick was a truly amazing human being. It was just a total joy being in the presence this wonderful man. Ron Palillo from Welcome Back Kotter was also in the movie, along with Flip Wilson, Billy Barty, Dorothy Stratton, Don Delueise and others were in the movie. I cherish the memories of being with all these beautiful people. It was a time I will never forget in my life. @ my current age of 76 years now on this day(1-10-2024) I still roller-skate and keep myself in good physical condition and I eat very healthy foods. I get check-ups regularly to make sure all my vitals are where they should be. Thanks and have a good day. God Bless all.

Got it at 66 and now I'm 77 and still running marathons I wouldn't call it running any more, but I'm still out there. If they can caught it early you have a chance. 95 races to date.

The secret is to not go into denial. And also, to find a doctor who will take your symptoms seriously enough to run the proper tests and find out early enough so you can survive it. Don't put up with some doctor blowing you off or saying it's all in your head, or whatever. That doctor is lazy and doesn't really care. MAKE the doctor seriously look into your symptoms, and if he or she won't, go to someone who will.

@Arn.Sussekind2 ай бұрын
The cause of pancreatic cancer is still unknown, but some risk factors can make the patient more prone to the disease, such as smoking, obesity, type 2 diabetes and chronic pancreatitis due to alcohol abuse. Mortality is high because it gives few symptoms in the early stages. Only 5% of patients live more than 5 years. In excellent medical centers, mortality improves to 98% of survivors after 5 years of diagnosis.

WoW I’m a 70yo Disabled Veteran and when I was 19yo I thought I was dead 2 separate times. I’m still here and had Prostate Cancer surgery about 5 years ago and so far so good. In the last 6 months though 3 of my dearest long term friends have passed away and that really hurts. I guess I’m at the stage of life where that happens. I really don’t like this crap . I recently met a young couple who are engaged and the guy asked me what was the Best Time of My Life? I sat silent for a minute or so thinking about his question. I then told him the years that my 2 daughters were born and that 18 years or so were the absolute BEST YEARS OF MY LIFE. I had to work my ass off so my wife could be at home with the girls. Living on Long Island is very expensive. We had 2 cars and a mortgage and I wanted my daughters to go to camp in the summers like I did when I was growing up. I joined a Daddy Daughter Bowling League for a few winters with my youngest daughter. She still talks about it today. She reminded me that I was a few minutes late one evening getting to the bowling alley and I had told her that I went super fast in the Corporate Jet I was flying just to get there. I used over 102% of power on all 3 engines to make it to the bowling alley. Which is a true story.. I wish I could do it all over again but unfortunately that’s not going to happen.
@courtneyraymer65866 ай бұрын
I’m a 78yo who had to reply to your reply. First, thank you for your service. Next, I’ll pray for you to hit the 7year mark in your cancer fight. Thank you for “ working your ass off” so that your wife could be a stay-at-home mom. One of my strongest beliefs is that our most cherished memories about our parents is how much TIME they spent with us, not how much money they spent on us. Finances can vary, but everyone has the same 24 hour allotment every day. How we spend that says a lot about our values. Kids pick up on this as they grow up. It sounds as if your daughters have.

They were all truly amazing, iconic, talented and beautiful actors and actresses. They made us laugh and gave us happiness with their work. Their loss will affect us deeply. It is sad how cancer is taking so many of us. Cancer is our number one enemy to our lives. We must do more research because all of our lives depend on it; rich and poor, young and old, short and tall, etc. My most sincere condolences to their families if they are watching this. I think with so many of them gone from cancer their families must still be suffering. May God give them strength.

Anyone said that cancer was an epidemic??? Well, lung cancer makes sense when we were told that smoking was GOOD FOR YOU! And as far as PANCREATIC cancer, which can take you in just a few weeks, well, maybe more work needs to be done to FIND OUT WHAT THE SOURCE OF ALL THE CASES CAN BE. A lot of leukemia as well. We seem to need serious talks about the dangers, and from a young age, especially with shortages of medical staff. And 2 more things would help: stopping ads for products known to be triggers for ilnesses, and investigating the foods we buy, local and foreign imported. The ECONOMY is a great thing, but not useful for those who leave us for the next world, due to that carnage.

Not necessarily alcohol. My family member died of pancreatic cancer at 60 years old. He never drank alcohol or smoked. Sometimes it’s pure bad luck

I don't have to watch this whole video to know that half of these actors didn't have to die, if they just hadn't started smoking! If any product should be prohibited, it should be this one, except the U.S. Govt. gets too many billions of dollars in taxes from it & will never prohibit this 'money maker'!

I concur with your viewpoint that if something poses as much harm to health as smoking does, it should be outright banned

Yes, I now realize that it may sound illogical, but the video covers information on 150 actors, and it took me a week to gather and process all the data for it. Unfortunately, mistakes like this happen.

A pancreatic cancer diagnosis is nearly always a death sentence. By the time it’s found the cancer is already late stage. We need a lot more research to find a way to catch it sooner
@michaelwascom623 ай бұрын
This is very true. I learn almost every other day (so it seems) of someone I know who is diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Often they experienced no symptom other than suddenly feeling a bit "under the weather", which propelled them to consult a physician.

There were a number of celebrities left out. Perhaps a part two video will be done. Also, as some have pointed out there were several inconsistencies. Still, it was put together well enough. I was surprised in learning that some have passed on that I thought were still alive. And I agree, how could you leave out Valerie Harper?
