Splendid, as I've come to expect thank y'all

I think the moral of this episode is that we lose something when we use technology - as Matt puts it - there's something lost in translation. TNG's Data character arc is for Data to try to become human. And so the TOS and TNG stories are kind of inconsistent with each other, which might be why they don't mention What Are Little Girls Made of in TNG. In Star Trek Picard, they upload Picard into a machine like they do here. But it works fine, and, unfortunately, the moral is lost.

Sean - one word, dehumidifier. I love mine here in the humid south. I don’t understand the justification for Kirk to beam down the security guys. It seems like a flippant decision. Of course from a tv standpoint the show needed a couple extras to die to keep up their established norm. 🙄 Why did the phaser damage the android Brown? Was it set to kill? We think the merry-go-round scene is too long, it was over 2 minutes long. A person would have been very sick spinning at that rate of speed. Good review! We are looking forward to the next one.

As I've heard before, and I think it was from the mouth of James Doohan at a Star Trek convention DECADES ago, chests were shaved because that was what the network wanted, Roddenberry simply enforced it. Regardless, still weird.

Dagger of the Mind The Enterprise crew encounter a weird civilization with a leader named Dagger of the Mind. They have a large number of beliefs and habits that are illogical, and Dagger leads his people in worship of a giant rock called of course Rock. When Scotty sits on Rock and farts to be funny, he is captured to stand trial before Dagger. Kirk and Spock act as his defense lawyers and have to use "illogical" methods to free Scotty, including making up a lively dance they call "Dance of Forgiveness Before Rock" where they dance together around Rock. Also note, first prime time television fart.

As soon as Korby said that consciousness could be transfered, I already knew the ending. It felt like the last half of it was rushed, though. Also, it looks like the youtube gods deleted my comment where I copy pasted the Powerpuff Girls Intro for my wrong answer to "what little girls are made of."

Aside from the whole android angle, what really is the difference between Dr. Korby's machine and the humble transporter? Both create a duplicate of the person. At least the transporter has the basic courtesy to kill the original.
