As the Mythbusters used to say "We test this, so YOU don't have to". This video took way longer than expected, I hope you enjoy :)! On one hand I am showing how I roll my builds and how to figure out your rotation. On the other hand, I tested what is better: hard farming scrolls or prestiging many times. I was able to draw these conclusions:
CONCLUSION 1:
10-15 prestiges = time investment of farming 1500 scrolls
CONCLUSION 2:
Prestige around 5 times, then choose the best one of those and farm scrolls for it

Great input on how you look at a build an explanation on breaking it all down. Wish there were more people doing it this way of showing off the thought process. My only thing is how to gear for the hybrid builds cause my build is spr an agi based an no gear has that mix.

@Vxlvxt thanks for the input but I'm trying for a combat medic with a bleed disembowel razz talon to proc the dark surgeon. I have just been rerolling alot and as you said I should of just did it 5 times then farmed the rest. As of the gear I'm thinking to try will be ten storms the agi based with atk speed an crit. So thank you for the advice an now to use excel to find out what I should truly roll for.

What heirloom set should one use if prestiging for this build? Valor? Or some spellpower set?

so this might be a dumb question but do you need fel infused for this to really work or can you get away with flame tongue cuz after 2k card packs i still dont have it and have never rolled it in a build...

The idea is that you’re guaranteed what you card and then you’re rolling for the rest while leveling?

Well you do 99% of your rolling at max level, thats how the game is designed. You get reroll scrolls from just playing the game (m+, raids, pvp etc.) and try to refine what you ended up with from leveling. That's why sometimes if when you hit 60 the build didnt come together as well as you wanted, it's an option to just level again and again till you get a decent starting point, then just farm the passive scrolls to refine that starting point even more. Try to take drain life with blood arrow and all the drain life mods especially the legendary with pet's necromancer's touch. Your blood arrow dot alone will do 15k dps :D

Damage from all of the melee pure shadow builds seemed pretty low. Think the build focuses on too many things.

Ye, that's an issue with going wide. Damage is low cause I am still missing some giga core, for example everlasting affliction i keep mentioning that would allow to keep up 3 corruptions permanently for free damage + more procs. I hoped I theorycrafted it well, i based it on a mate that does 35k st playing dark intent pure chaos bolt and just added pure shadow + shadowburn package sacrificing a few stuff. We see how it performs when fully rolled, hoping 25-30k st and ideally giga aoe (thats what i made it for :D).
