i think the difference is that Krystal was trying hard not to and even turned her face away when key approached. Luna wasn't hiding she was crying, hence hugging her seemed more right i guess, because krystal was really trying to keep up a straight face and getting a consoling hug def wouldnt help. ive seen key do this with his own members too, once when onew was almost crying and minho wanted to hug onew, key stopped minho; because when someone is trying their best to hold it in, you gotta respect that. thats why i think though, i really dont think there was any "closer to luna than krystal" behind it, but different persons needs different treatment.

Fany Hwang She's more of a mom than a leader. At one point they called her "eomma". The huge age gap must be one factor, but she's known to be very caring of the members. I think part of it was due to age Victoria was better prepared for it and she may have also had a personality that fit being leader better. Taeyeon for instance was still a kid when she was made leader of SNSD and in many ways her personality was not that of a typical leader. She did it, but it was very hard for her and she was fortunate that Tiffany had the "Manager Hwang" personality to take on some of those leader roles in SNSD to keep it from being such a burden on Taeyeon. It seems like it was more natural for Victoria.
