In the summer of 1535, Henry VIII took summer progress with his second wife Anne Boleyn.
Leaving London only a day after his former friend and Lord Chancellor, Sir Thomas More was executed by beheading on Tower Hill ostensibly for refusing to accept Henry VIII as head of the Church in England.
In conversation, Philippa seeks to understand more about the Progress itself, the context in which it took place, the state of Anne and Henry's relationship at this point in time and the speed at which events took a turn for the worse for Anne.
British History Tours in association with The Tudor Travel Guide will be recreating part of the 1535 Progress in September 2021.
