Red Dead Redemption 2 is an action-adventure third-person shooter video game developed by Rockstar Studios and published by Rockstar Games.

0:16 - When moving at high speed, Arthur squints

One really impressive detail I found: If you order a mule/ donkey to flee, it'll be a lot less likely to obey compared to a horse. This is because in real life mules and donkeys are considered stubborn creatures

The fact that NPCs and animals all interact with each other regardless of whether Arthur is involved is amazing. Bears and wolves fighting, eagles catching fish, people having conversations or disagrements, etc. make the environment feel so real.

I found my favorite detail ever just the other day: Go up to the northern most part in the map, glacier, you walk up to the big wall of ice at the edge of the map. You can literally hear the ice scraping against the tectonic plays of the earth as the vibrations pass through the ice in a deep, reverberated hum.

Wait till they really start implementing AI into games. Like intelligent npc dialogue where you can talk to npcs through your headphones microphone and they will respond accordingly and differently every time rather than a limited number of prerecorded dialogue options. This could already be done today with little inconsistencies but within a few years it will be mastered and tuned to perfection. It will feel really trippy actually having full on lengthy conversations with npcs. Add VR to that and you’re basically a time traveler.

With the games detail, damaging the signs makes me wonder if NPC's will get lost and complain about not getting where they were going.

Npc's will only allow you to ride with them is when you aren't wearing a bandoiler or carrying weapon at back because if you do so they kinda become suspicious of you and move away

ah!!! that makes sense! I remember once having the option to ask but i always have a bandolier on as well as atleast 1 rifle so my Arthur looks cooler...

I'm only just now putting that together. I ALWAYS carry two back weapons to complete my "bounty hunter" look amd NPC's always flee or ignore my flags. Good detail.

i think its just when the player has a gun on their back, because my arthur is always wearing a bandolier and i get rides with strangers.

I actually used this feature when I lost my horse, no one gave me a ride so I had to ran to the nearest town for a horse reviver, saved my horse.

Don't forget gta 6 will be next game of Rockstar. I was too young back when red dead 1 was released, but I'd guess gta 5 was more detailed than red dead 1

@@kevinf6859 It definitely was, but it was also less detailed than GTA 4, so it depends. I really hope Rockstar goes all out with GTA6, bringing all the lessons from Red Dead, emphasis on physics and meaningful game space. GTA5's world is soo empty, there's nothing meaningful to do in it aside from missions. Couple the Red Dead 2 DNA also with the fact that it will be PS5/Xbox Series exclusive and we could be witnesses of something incredible, but I'm very cautious. It very well may be that Red Dead 2 was indeed one in a lifetime game.

@@TheBakingSlave they throw 2 shells into an 8 round mag and suddenly have 8 shells. Red Dead 2 doesn't have this problem with the shotguns at the least.

Imagine there’s some dialouge for the npc’s when they want to go to strawberry but the signs are broken so they ask you directions. They would have taken that to the next level of realism

Aside from that, you said it yourself that it's just the majority of them that are vastly known meaning that there are still some that not everyone knows about, making this video just as useful and informative as any other of this kind.

Also, Micah’s horse gets nervous around you (and so does Dutch’s later on in the game) and Micah will fight for your spot in the formation when you ride with the gang

The GTA series is fast paced, and rdr2 is slow paced. GTA 6 may not be as detailed as this game, but probably more detailed than V

5:12 also, you can find fake, blind beggars. I've come across them in Saint Denis, where if you point your gun at them, they'll get scared and run.

I've also noticed that bucks will rub their horns against trees to mark their territory. I play Red Dead primarily as a hunting sim, so I notice a lot of cool wildlife details they put in the game.

im not sure if you've made this in a video yet, but have you noticed when you fall behind when doing a mission on horse back and your talking to dutch eg. arthur yells it when your behind. its a great detail

O que torna os jogos da Rockstar tão maravilhosos é a atenção aos pequenos detalhes, coisa que muita empresa não da a mínima cof CD Project cof Ubisoft cof... I remember hunting a rabbit (trying to creep up on it for a cleaner shot) and this eagle comes out of nowhere and takes my target, just flies away with it

The amount of detail in this game blows my mind sometimes.Most of the small details didn't even had to be in the game and no one would notice.Rockstars team really loved this project

You can tap whistle rapidly in which Arthur loses his breath from whistling so much and I love the bear and wolf fight it makes things feel so alive

6:26 not sure if its too much to ask but could you see if the sign stay destroyed or respawn back to normal? Super details like this im always curious with. Like stashing corpses to see them decompose but they always disappear for me

Yeah with that stashing corpses thing I tried it and it DID work, they decomposed. Then I tried to do it in video games

Best detail I discovered. I killed a bison, walked on top of its body. And my boot prints left a mark in its fur.
