That was crazy to me. They not only believed in him, they scientifically *knew* he could do it even if magnus wasn’t sure he could. The intuitional inner body knowledge of these body focused athletes never ceases to amaze me.

Yeah that advice, and the camaraderie is what got him over the top. Extremely impressive to see that. I felt it in my bones! People think that strong man competitions are just low IQ pure strength things, when really it's highly complex puzzle solving under great stress.
@vocalimpactplays2177 ай бұрын
The really specific coaching to get his feet aligned correctly so he could really get the full strength from his legs and back just had me grinning from ear to ear. I started getting powerlifting training after a few years of being really intimidated by lifting in general, and that feeling of having a coach who actually knows what they're talking about, is incredibly supportive, but also recognizes when to push you was something that I had never experienced in my life up to that point. Easily breaking 4 plates (405lbs/180kg) for reps on a lift for the first time with the help of some very specific coaching tuned to my size (6'7/2m tall) and body after struggling to do less than half of that on my own for fear of injury is still something that sticks with me years later.
@OriginalPuro7 ай бұрын
@@ThunderChunky101 "People think that strong man competitions are just low IQ pure strength things" Who does that? I've spoken to plenty of people about strong men and not one of them say this, most of them will say that people who are at the top of anything will have a good idea of what they are doing. You wouldn't think Floyd Mayweather was a low-IQ person because he's at the top, same with Erling Haaland, Casper Ruud, Lebron James and so on..

@@KING_PHILLIPDespite the capitalist societal norms that you get taught ideologically, disciplines where you do not directly compete against others, but rather against yourself and your ego, do see way less conflict and toxicity. You don't get anything from wishing others to fail, it doesn't make you lift that stone which last time you couldn't. Supporting each other leads to an atmosphere of solidarity where eventually everyone will profit from. One of the many reasons why sports are political, in a good way, and society could very well learn from it.
