Informative video about fitting the sound chip and speaker 👍. I`m slightly confused though, because the diesel engine sounds we`re hearing are most definitely not recorded from an English Electric 4SRKT engine, as used in the Class 73. I worked on the locos at Eastleigh in the 1990`s so I have first hand experience. The engine idling sounds I`m hearing are of a small sulzer engine as used in BR Class 24/25/26 and 27 locomotives. More recently Class 73/9s have been re-engineered with Cummins engines, but that`s another sound altogether. Despite the incorrect sound file the speaker sounds to be decent quality.

Hi Rob, I don't do DCC at all but found that process interesting. Can you run her on electric and do a video of the sounds? The 650 diesel sounds ok, but a bit odd on getting away, should be more of a drumming noise bit like a Thumper 3H kinda thing. Maybe its there and don't come over on my phone lol. Hi Rob, a great video as always, and a lovely addition to the railway. What were your thoughts on the Rail Exclusive speaker you were supplied with? I've used them, although smaller ones in my own diesel fleet, I like the sound quality from them, but wondered what your thoughts were. The two solder pads on the circuit boad LS+, LS- would indicate speaker connections, I think I read recently that 21 pin decoders don't usually have prefitted speaker wires on the decoder, so the manufacturers usually have those solder pads on the circuit board instead. The class 73 were Electro Diesels, that could use 3rd rail too, which I noticed you have on the layout. I was wondering if you had tried the Electric sound too, and what they were like?
