My mother is from Bevagna and return there several times a year - lovely to see it featured! The Cantine Aperte the end of May is also worth experiencing, most of the vineyards are open and you can explore their wines and have DJ's/music. Great fun. La Quintana in Foligno is also worth seeing. All in all lots to see and do from a beautiful part of Italy.

Panicale is a beautiful medieval village with alot of history. Visit the Panicale Info Point for a tour of the silk museum, San Sebastian Church with it's very own painting by Rafael, and the delightful wooden theatre. Not to mention the wonderful bars,restaurants and hotels in the Piazza centro storico. They have live music in the summer and plenty of festas. Only 15 minutes from Trasimeno Lake. Hope I'm not too late with this info.

Castelluchio di Norcia was one of my favourite places in Italy, but was terribly damaged in the earthquakes in 2016-17. I visited in 2019 and most of the old village was still a "red zone" that could not be entered. I hope more of the village has been recovered since then

Wonderful video Michelle, thank you for creating this. Just a shame you didn't include Panicale which has an amazing history and festa celebrating both its traditional silk and wine history. Also a fresco by Rafael and an exquisite wooden theatre in the historico centro. We'll worth a visit.

Hi Michele, Great Video. My wife and I rented Villa Primaluce Trasimeno for a month and will arrive next Saturday. It seems that most of the festivals are in June and July. Are there any in May? Can you also recommend some farmers markets. We love to cook. Arrivederci. Albert

We will be spending three weeks in Italy soon and plan to spend a week or so in Umbria. Pre-Covid we spent a week in Tuscany based in Chianti and loved exploring. Do you have a suggestion for a base in Umbria? We will be renting a car and would like to see the key sites. Grazie.

Thanks Michelle. Question for you. We are arriving in civitavecchia and want to pick up a rental car to drive to Umbria. Where is the best place to pickup a car? I’m civitavecchia port or Florence or Rome airport? I don’t want to have to deal with big city traffic. Or back track. It would be a one way rental. Thanks in advance! Carencia 😊

Ciao Carencia, I would suggest checking prices for all 3 places and what cars they have available as well as factor in the hassle of travelling all the way to Fiumicino airport or Florence etc without a car to then pick one up. Personally, I would get a rental directly from the point of departure, ie. Civitavecchia. You can compared options here bit.ly/BookDiscoverCars
