There was not much to blunder, position was dead lost in last 25 moves at least. Carlsen blundered much earlier with knight move Nd2 , which allowed black to promote .He mixed move order , he had to push his pawn first with check and then Nd2. Black had to come back to stop white pawns. No promotion from either side , white takes all black pawns , black takes white pawns, insufficient material = draw

I think it's common for people in that part of the world to claim a younger age to get better educational or career opportunities, and he can't change it back then when it suits. He could be 17, but seems unlikely.

You will almost never see checkmates on the board in high-level chess. Here, Gukesh was up a queen vs a knight and a single pawn in the end. They both know Gukesh will easily win in that position so Carlsen resigned the game.
