Also as for your original question, people often say that when you get in shape and stuff nothing changes because you need to fix whats on the inside first but thats not true. If youre more attractive and take care of yourself people will absolutly treat you better, also being in shape and knowing that you achieved it and you have goals and a purpose will drive your confidence up big times so thats another thing that will make things much better.

Tragic funny story happened to me relating to this. Been training my front squat for 9 months now. Initial PR was 265lbs. Attempted 3 plates back in August multiple times, but clearly was nowhere near ready for it yet. Bought some new knee sleeves afterwards to replace my old tattered ones. Got my working set up to 285x4 last Tuesday, so I decided it was time again to go for 3 plates. It’s now November 2022. Tuesday 11/8, I go for it and boom. Easy 3 plates one rep. But… *I forgot to hit record on my phone….* I was so distraught and can’t believe I did that to myself… three days later it’s now Friday 11/11 and boom. Redemption on camera. Not as easy as Tuesdays, but I don’t care. I used this video here as inspiration for both days. Thank you 🙏🏻

@Riddell Wilson Lifting weights is absolutely heroic.
@bw53463 жыл бұрын
That moment really impacted me. The look, the determination in his eyes, the absolute commitment to not giving up, not failing, and not letting his friends down. This was so moving. It could have been only 50 lbs and would have the same meaning. The power of the human spirit is simply remarkable.
@bw53463 жыл бұрын
@Riddell Wilson the issue here is your personal classification of what makes something heroic. I fully understand where you're coming from. Trust me, I do. If I were still younger and less experienced in the world and things I've seen and learned, I'd be right there beside you, right now. You're not theoretically wrong, you simply don't understand the depth of the word, and I'll try to help explain it. Heroism plays many roles, but the broadest understanding is, to be heroic, means to conquer something that is frightening, or inherently, to conquer something that would realistically conquer you, an opponent that incites fear, if you will. A man who saves a child from a burning building is heroic because the fire is the opponent, the challenge, and the thing that would conquer the rescuer if he so let it. But he looked that fear in the face, and chose to conquer it anyway, therefore making him heroic. Heroism is not reserved simply for that which could kill you, no. Heroism is staring your opponent in the face, placing your fear and your awareness of the potential for failure behind, and choosing to tackle it head on, regardless of the potential outcome. This 17 boy had an opponent that by all means should have absolutely crushed him, hell, even have killed him had he not prepared for it. He did not simply walk into a gym for the very first time and say "you know that guys? Grab your camera, this is gonna be great. I'm gonna go lift that bar with weights, yeah, that one, the one that nearly weighs 3 times my body weight, and I'm gonna lift it up to my chin. Here goes!"...... No. That's never happened, ever. This boy, this champion, picked out his opponent a LONG time ago. He knew what he wanted to accomplish, and he also knew what it would take to get there. He trained, relentlessly, for a long, long time, never losing sight of the opponent he wanted to beat. You can even tell by the way this is set up. Everyone was prepared, they all knew what he was going to try to accomplish, and they all prepared to support. You really think he wasn't crapping his pants the entire day knowing what he was going to try to accomplish later? You think for one second he wasn't afraid? That boy put every ounce of strength, will, determination, grit, and soul that he had inside himself to accomplish what he did. There's a million ways he could have given up before and even during the attempt. But he didn't. He gave his EVERYTHING, everything he possibly had, not accepting failure as a possibility. The guy, running into the burning building, did the exact same thing. Giving everything he had and never accepting failure as a reality. The error is not in what he did, but in retaining a narrow view for a word that means and deserves so much more than to be remanded to such a simple and limited definition. He conquered his demon, he destroyed his opponent, and it took significantly more than just strength and endurance. It took bravery, it took courage, it took everything he could possibly give, and he did it. That boy, neigh, that man, is a hero. No intent to demean or belittle, but I hope I may have helped you to understand. Take care.
