Nice 10 point! I must say however, taking a shot at the end of legal light when you know there is a VERY good chance it won't be a lethal shot and that tracking may be impossible is not something I would do.

Awesome deer man! Not sure why the 80 yard shot in low light conditions, looks like you have a stellar place to hunt and do your homework. Either way every experience offers lessons to learn and I’d bet this helped you for the better. Good luck this year.

I shot 2 of my best buck oct.1 and 5 one was only a 3.5 that would have been a giant the is a 9.5 year . I've been lucky to hunt bucks that make it to 10.5 in my area it always amazes me they make year after year with wolves cabin shooters (most are shot at night) sad. I was lucky to get both on cam also . I even shot a 10 pt that crashes into my stand and dies right at the base of the ladder .

Well both of the shots were fairly bad shots in my opinion. The 80 yard pretty much no light shot was kinda hard to figure out... Why risk that shot? And the bedded shot was fairly risky as well. The deer was no spooked either time. Just be patient

So this is a little less than 2 years after posting. Others are suggesting that 80 yards in low light is a questionable shot. For all the new hunters out there... NEVER take a shot over 40 yards in optimal conditions.. let alone nightfall. This guy would have gotten knocked out if he were hunting with me and I saw this. I don't say this about many hunters because it is too easy.. but I think you might be a sociopath.. Please get yourself checked. No one in the hunting community takes an 80 yard shot... no one! The fact that you did it at last light and you put it on KZfaq... you have serious mental issues. And I've been a deer hunter for over 20 years.. have respect for the animal and for hunting ethics. Your grandfather is spinning in his grave - I guarantee it.

Part of bow hunting is knowing ethical distance for shooting and shot placement, you dropped the ball there, however we all have made mistakes learn for yours and move on. Working on letting the deer come in close or set up closer to the deer. What ever distance your groups spend past 2.5”-3” that’s your max distance.

This is a disgraceful example of bow hunting. First off 80yrd at a deer almost broadside in low light?? Holy cow dude, hang up the bow and try ice fishing or basket weaving. And then the bedded deer, not saying it was a bad shot but no where near a good shot so let’s follow up with a second arrow or get down from the stand and put an arrow in him. You guys should rethink this youtube hunting.

80 shot is prob not the best to take and then post on KZfaq after u don’t find the buck but my biggest prob was not taking another shot at that spined buck that was suffering... to many hunters feel like it’s not a successful hunt unless you kill, had u just shown the footage of theses bucks w out shooting to 80 at last light or put another arrow in the bedded buck I’d be a fan. You owe it to yourself as a hunter to learn for your 2016.

Thank you. It was a tough moment knowing a few inches lower would have done the job. We are glad his is still healthy and will be after him this late season no doubt! The story with ET isn't over!

LiftHuntGame I read enuf negative comments to know there are ethical hunters left and know 80 yrds at dusk is unethical. The best i heard was a man who claimed that the choice to shoot "was on you". It wasnt just on you. It was on the buck who suffered unnecessarily and the real hunters whos image will suffer, also unecessarily. Its a video id share as how not to hunt and clicked on with headline saying such. Modern bows can kill at that range. You have to see the target tho. Move your bait closer? Make sure its in full moonlight? Dont take the shot?

yoou don't need to spend your money on all these expensive scent blockers or scent control..all you need to do is play the wind and you'll be killing more deer than you'll ever imagine..don't believe all these hype about scent eliminator ...my friend proofed me wrong when i was buying all these expensive scent blockers and scent eliminator..he took me to his farm and deer is always out at dusk and we would sit 10 yrd to the edge where deer would filter in and eat soybean and corn... he told me to sit in the soybean fields and use all my expensive clothing ans scent control when the wind is swirling.. as i went into the field before the deer would come out, as time hit 5:15 deer started to entered the field and as the wind swirled and the deer picked my scent they all scattered the field...on my second trial an error, we went and sat in the field along with him..we wear cheap walmart camo clothing just to break up our outline and played the wind to our favor.. as the deer was coming into the field, my friend even took a leak and the deer didn't even notice we're there til one young buck came right to us and saw us, that's when he was spooked and fled... since then i never buy any expensive clothing, unless to keep me warm from the cold..i just buy average camo and play the wind and see more deer... all those ads on scent control and clothing only to make sales not gonna get you a deer unless you play the wind in your advantage .

this is what archery has become over the years..these guys dont want bows they want guns..350fps and want faster and faster..80yrds in that xtreme low light is just selfish and dumb...there is no more bow and arrow hunting anymore when guys can even think of shooting over 60yrds at game..mechanical this mechanical that..soon theres gonna be a phone app that will shoot the bow for you...when did people not trust there fingers anymore? im waiting for a video to come out where a giant whitetail stepd out at 20 yards and the hunter drops or doesnt have his mechanical release with him and just watches the deer walk away..sure its happened already but no one is gonna show that footage..

How the hell are you gonna take an 80 yard shot on a buck in low light..? Of course your gonna screw up its and 80 yard shot a bow doesn't have enough kanetic entry to make an ethical shot.. and then you worsen the video by trying to squeeze an arrow into a bedded buck and risk that also.. stupidity.. I'm just glad that buck actually died instead of wounded..
