With an extensive build on a boat that should have been taken to the tip, the boys at @hbshipwrights have pulled it off. A 1750 Bullet I had visioned in my head has been turned into a reality. With many ups and downs, lots of blood, sweat and tears, Daniel delivered exactly what I wanted !
With the bare boat of my dreams picked up 7 Days before race day without a hole in it, it was time to get to work.
As hard as it was to put a hole in such a nice boat, we started Drilling and mounting!
With Motor and steering mounted, we needed the boat to be #wiredup like no other. So when you want the best you get the best. @wiredupinstallations spent endless hours and efforts wiring the @billetautomotivebuttons and making the @fueltechaustralia Dash compatible to the good old Merc.
From Battery to Engine back to Dash, the wiring is art.
We finished the boat at 2:30am Saturday night and we raced on Sunday at 9am, when the flag dropped that was our test and tune, we learnt the hard way with a spin out in 2nd corner and terrible handling on the straights.
After lowering the engine a couple inches, the boat came to life placing a couple 1st places and 2nd in the Craig Bailey Championship.
Let’s say we are extremely happy with the base we have to work with, there is plenty of room for improvement but we will have fun teething the issues out of it !
