My thought is to slope the sand so the darker blue looks like deeper water.

You should of put a very teeny tiny amount of a very fine silver glitter in with the sand bc sand is always sparkling!! It would of made everything pop! The blue sea would of sparkled too!! Maybe next time? I love this though!! I prefered the darker blue before you diluted it but it still came out beautifully!! Thanks for sharing Julie!! 😍😍

I'm thinking if you used a deeper mold, it could help in two ways. 1: you could use opaque in the bottom just enough to cover the wire. And 2: there would be room to insert some sort of weight. I find countertop paper towel holders work better for me if they have some weight to them, so it doesn't topple when you pull towels off. Just a thought. Beautiful job as always, and very cool idea❤

Pretty cool. Maybe next time instead of a metal holder you could use a piece of drift wood? add a bit of sea glass and some white for the foam. 😊

It’s a good idea to put a thin layer of clear down; that’s a good way to ensure the sand isn’t scratchy.

Absolutely stunningly gorgeous Julie ❤ I have several of these to make. Bought from the dollar store here in Canada. I also have very tall ones for toilet paper holders to do. I absolutely love all the sand covering the metal ring at the bottom. Thank you so kindly for sharing your wonderful talent and videos with us all ❤ Take great care and keep creating ❤ I know your winter has been very dry in Australia so praying for you all this spring and summer with wildfires. Right now in British Columbia Canada we have over 500 forest fires. Fires started in our Maritime provinces early spring. Which is very highly unusual for Canada 🇨🇦. I suspect that between the resin and the sand this piece is weighty! that's a good thing, it won't tip over when you rip off a towel with one hand! beautiful, i'm going to the Dollar Tree after work!!

I do sand first in the cup and then the resin. I mix it for about 2 minutes. It works great!

That turned out lovely! 😍 It's also very practical which is awesome. Functional art is the best kind of art in my opinion. 😅👍 Now I'm wondering if something similar can be done with a hanging paper towel holder. I don't have enough room on my counter to have one of these types. Actually, on second thought, I think you can simply turn one of these into a hanging paper towel holder. It would really only need to have a stopper placed on the top to keep the roll from sliding off and a way to attach to the wall. 🤔 Simple enough. 😆👌

Love this beach theme. It isn't over the top, has the right colours and lots of shells. I was thinking of making this a while back (looking at my very dull paper towel holder) and was looking for the right mould....I found it! Thank you 😊
