The first time I shot my Benjamin Vaporizer airgun rifle, free standing, scope not mounted nor needed, I dented a stop sign at 88 yards. It shoots at about Mach 1.3. I mounted the scope but have nowhere to sight it in around these apts. I like my iron sights much better. The scope is 3 power with nice cross hairs, and super nice windage and elevation, so I guess I'm gonna hafta learn how to sight it in somewheres.

Had to up grade the scope on the Gamo Varmint,, Hopping the one that comes with the Magnum is good so I do not have to replace it wright away funds getting on the short side, Hear in Canada we pay a lot more for the rifles and ammo than you do in the USA almost double. Bought the Gen3i .177 caliber recently. Going into it knowing that really the only major complaint about this rifle was the Gamo scope that came with the rifle. No turret/adjustment knobs. The other was no front sights. I am scope guy so, not a deal breaker. Some had no problem with the scope, and some did. I had issues with the scope shooting high. I had made some little shims to slide in between the front ring and the front of the scope. I started bringing down the shot pattern. I had intentions of replacing the scope when I bought it, so no big deal. Even when my shoots were high, they had a nice grouping at 30 yards. The break barrel does require I think about 40/45 pds of pressure to charge it. Overall, I am very pleased with rifle.

Hello Ben, In regards to those GAMO rifles, I heard that the rifles are not the problem; but rather, it has been the quality of the riflescopes that come with them. In fact, many new owners switch them out for higher quality ones; and once they do, they are perfectly pleased with the results of their shooting! ... That's of course if you exercise regularly! Because breaking the barrel on these rifles is not for any weaklings!

I weight around 57 kg and can shoot my gamo magnum all day long, it's not that hard. What's really hard is shooting a powerful springer precisely. I don't think, it's the scope, it's most likely the wrong technique. On the plus side, that hold sensitivity really points out bad habits. That's good for learning how to do it right. If you can shoot a springer accurately, your group will be pretty much one hole with a proper pcp.

Hello! Very good video. Can you please make a video and more different ballistic gel pellets? I have a gamo black cat 1400 .177 and can't decide if I should buy the .177 or the .22 (I won't be hunting with it). And another question. Are these magnums stronger in the US than in the EU at full power? And should I prefer gen 2 over gen 3? Tested the .22 gen 2 at a friend's today. I tested it with various specialty pellets like Elko GREEN EXPRESS Diabolo 0.67g, exploding pellets Kvintor Diabolo FLASH and Metalmags. Then I shot equivalent pellets like these out of my black cat 1400 and for example the .177 exploding Kvintor Phantom pellets did very little damage while the .22 Flash went through a 2cm wooden plate and nearly did a 2mm aluminum plate. Elko were completely insane. It shot through a 2 cm wooden board and then another. With the aluminum plate, it went like a knife through butter.

I find myself shooting at lots and lots of various ranges.. also I diesel my pellets regularly. WD-40 soak and then patroleum injected in the rear via a small syringe and wiped smooth with your thumb directly after loading the breech. Smacks hard and at 125 yards shooting at my pond, it decreases my pellets/bullet drop by two vertical feet or so consistently

I agree on your findings..Here in Australia..we can only buy the gamo magnums in gen 1...we never got the gen 2 much less gen 3..I have both in gen 1..they are fun and the 177 is more accurate and pellets are exactly half the price of 22 pellets. $15 a tin of 500 in 177 and $15 for a tin of 250 in 22.. I enjoy the challenge of shooting them compared to my 2 gamo gas ram models, the roadster gen 2 in 22 cal and the speedster gen 2 in 177. Both these gas ram models being significantly more accurate..probably because they are so much easier to shoot..no herky jerky recoil and much easier to cock..really great guns all of them, but all quite different...and the difference and the challenge that brings, is where the fun is at for me

@@indigocloud8408 yeah...ok..dont know what the importer is really doing here..wether they can't get stock, or maybe the market just isnt big enough, but the available gamo range is small..no gen 3 in anything . The gen 2 10 shot mechanism definitely works better in both my gas ram models, both have open sights but come with a fixed 4 power scope..the front sight fell of my new 177 and fell on the floor after about 6 shots 😅😅 I use them mainly inside my shed with a 19 meter shooting range endless hours of fun shooting at tiny targets like 22 magnum shell cases etc..I really enjoy all 4 gamos and Im loo,ing to geet into pcp with a top shelf FX.. My Gamo Swarm Magnum Gen 2 in .22 seems to eat whatever dovetail to picatinny mount I put on. It kicks the hell out of everything I put on there. Stop pins bent or cracked in half... rails sliced like an orange peel. It shoots really hard and I love it, but man.. no mount survives this thing. Gamo, if you are reading this.. please mill a 1913/Picatinny Rail on the receiver of these rifles. They should come with that rail from the factory and not with that weird dovetail they come with.

Is the difference because of inconsistency of the power output of different guns or are there other factors causing the difference? Thank you.

All you have to do is gently pry it out and then reinstall it and the little spring. My new Fusion Gen 3i arrived with the little clip pushed down like that. Evidently shipping people are tossing them around pretty good. As for accuracy in the new Gamo rifles, my new Fusion is in the same class as any HW rifle. I love it. If I do my part and keep the hold and trigger control the same, a half inch group at 50 yards is possible with the Predator GTO. Of course the rifle is always more accurate than myself. I saw that you have to break the barrel each shot. I thought you could shoot several times by breaking the barrel once. Also, I saw in the package that Gen 3i is 1300 fps for .177 and 1000 fps for .22. Is it wrong advertisement, or you don't have the gen 3i ?

Velocity will be more with lighter pellet and less with heavier pellet. For those high numbers the manufacturer uses a led free pellet that is very light. Yes, you have the break the barrel each shot. It's that way on all break barrels.

does a .22 pellet drop more than the .177 the further the distance?

A little bit. But in trade it's carrying more energy.

I have the .22 cal swarm whisper and the most accurate pellet I've found is actually the Crossman premier hollow point 14.3 grain

Physics, the energy in the .22 is much higher as the “track” trajectory of the pellet shows….what the M16 bullet or AR 15 would do.

You really don’t want a pellet to break the sound barrier. Accuracy can be destroyed when the pellet goes trans and then sub sonic. The 22cal will break the sound barrier, so any “speed advantages” the 177 can show are pretty worthless. If you are shooting pellet above sound barrier then you never want it to go subsonic. So a super sonic 177 would be limited to ranges where it can never drop below the sound barrier. Why would you ever want that! 22cal all day!

Check to see if the .177 is legal for woodchucks in your area. You may need to use .22.
