Back then he was very young in a very competitive perfection driven entertainment people have high standards in singing. That's why they will call him tone deaf. He has to grow, also SM don't let him sing to protect his voice. So people don't know his voice, plus put his voice next Onew and Jonghyun, ofcourse they will call him the worst. He grow up now. It is also a marketing thing now, to call someone tone deaf and when they grow this successful like Taemin to shock every audience to get them in awe and be on his side.

Shintiya Wijaya he sounds like jaejoong from jyj(tvxq). Probably because they have the same vocal teacher so they (SM artists) have the same vocal technique
