Irene is JUST 'cold' on the outside but these are her co-workers, and she may not be close to them, but she does not hate them, nor does she just hate 'men'. Don't compare her to KARD because they are originally a co-ed group and obviously they will look much more at ease with them because they are literally working with two men in their group all the time.
