Thankz for the update. We have 8 to 16 inches on the way! Only suggestion i got for ya is spray pam or wd40 on blade and bucket.

I'm thinking y'all might get some of this storm? Hard to figure when to plow? With a mix of ice? Would be better to wait if ice or sleet is on top of snow?

@@mikeadams2339 We’re definitely going to get something but at this point it doesn’t look like it’ll be much of anything. Beginning of the week they were calling for 4-6” now it’s down to ~1” followed by rain and 43° temps. Hard to say when best time to plow is, for my case I think I’ll just let Mother Nature do the work for me and melt whatever accumulations we get away with the rain!

will be using the same combo this coming winter. saw a video where a guy used a horse stall mat and cut a strip to put on the rear blade. he made it hang down below the cutting edge and said it works like a giant squeegee. may try that also have used the pvc on my loader bucket and it works but its brittle and breaks easy.

Buy some three inch PVC pipe, with a metal cutting blade on a reciprocating saw cut a slot down one side and slip it over the cutting edge of your bucket and rear blade. Then you dont have to worry about digging up the gravel. Use your bucket in float and drop the rear blade down all the way.

I run a pusher on the front and a rear blade like yours on the rear, since I hardly ever plow in reverse I have my top link adjusted all the way in so the angle of the grader blade is pushed outward, this helps the blade skip if I hit something solid since there's no relief springs or trip edge, also allows more of a float without digging into pavement or millings (my turn around is all compacted millings) Nothing wrong with using the front bucket, you seem to have that operation figured out well, i switched to a pusher because I got tired of having to raise up and dump, needed to save time, best advise is to find a pusher used and go from there, brand new are a few grand, also if you find a pusher, stay in the 6ft range for width, anything more makes steering very difficult when there's a full load of snow.

I'm thinking of using a piece of PVC pipe to help with the rear blade digging in, Ive been keeping my eye out for either a snow pusher or just a skid steer plow with hydraulics and not much has come up around me!

Does his Tacoma have any trouble with the full tote?

Nope not at all, beyond the squatted suspension he said he really doesn’t feel it back there much 🤷🏼‍♂️ He only drives it about 15 miles home via country back roads.
