That looks like so much fun!... I never had a longboard...but me and my friends used to go down hills at crazy speeds...no helmets...no pads...if we came off we literally would have died... great days!... These days I have a bit more sense though and will wear pads...

Is there any kind of knee pad that slows you down before you slide into the guard rail? The only reason that I don't wear knee pads is because I'm basically relying on my jeans and flesh to stop me.

+terry johnson There are a few things you can do. 1) install harder bushings in your trucks 2) run a lower degree baseplate in the back (only for downhill, doesn't work if you're ever riding switch) 3) build up your ankle strength by skating more of doing for distance pushes. 90% of speed wobbles come from lack of stability in the ankles and legs. There really isn't a 100% solution for speed wobbles, basically the more you skate, the less you'll get wobbles. Hope this helps! :)

I skate street, and many street skaters talk shit and call longboarders pussies on the Internet, but I don't. Given the fact that longboards have less speed wobbles, fuck that, I ain't going to go downhill one bit even with full hockey gear.
