Nice set up, I can certainly see the versatility of the Pro Guide. On the newer Pro-V 1875s with the 25" Transom, which length do you guys recommend for the Merc Prokicker, 20" or XL 25". Thanks!
@Forrestleitch Жыл бұрын
You can do either, I prefer 20" as you don't need to tilt it up for trailering, that's about the only difference. 25" is nice if you are in really rough water or backtrolling with the kicker

How did you mount your Talon so it will tilt? The brackets I see available don't recommend mounting to the transom.

Nice rig and setup! What are your thoughts on installing a fuel water separator?
@Forrestleitch Жыл бұрын
It isn't a bad idea, and it certainly won't hurt anything, I haven't found the need for one personally. If I was filling up more frequently at resorts or gas pumps on the water that may be more prone to bad fuel then I would consider it.

Do you wire in your lithium graph / house battery to the motor alternator in parallel with the cranking battery? I have heard lithium’s don’t care to be charged quick with high amperage so if you are running this way I’m curious about your experience. If this is not the case how is it set up for recharging?
@Forrestleitch Жыл бұрын
No, the lithium has its own dedicated onboard charger. I can run a full day no problem without having to recharge.

I'm looking at getting an 1875 pro guide. Does it ride fairly dry? I had an old tiller years ago and all spray seemed to come back to the operators position. I currently have an 18' Basscat and it rides quite dry. But of course you aren't so close to the back of the boat. Any other thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

It is definitely not as dry as a windshield boat where you are positioned closer to the bow, but if you pay attention to how you are driving you can stay pretty dry in most conditions. The only time I get really wet is if I'm in a tournament or something and I want to get to one spot as fast as possible so I don't pay attention to the wave or wind direction. If its really windy or wavy you can sort of zig zag across the lake to stay dry if you need.

Where did you fit the third battery and charger for the 36v system? There's not a lot of room, but I'd like to do 36v on mine as well.
@Forrestleitch2 ай бұрын
Room for 3 trolling motor batteries in the front, the 3rd spot is hidden below the rear-side of the rod locker. Lift out the rod-butt holder from the rod locker and you remove a panel below that to expose the area for the 3rd battery

Are the wave wackers quickly removable? Like if you're by yourself and fell in, could you remove it while in the water to be able to use the ladder?
@Forrestleitch Жыл бұрын
Yes, just a couple thumb screws to remove them

They are around $450 or so, specific to each boat model

How many boats do you have in that garage?
@Forrestleitch Жыл бұрын
I wish it was my garage! This is the showroom at the dealership I work at, Ray's Sport & Marine in Moorhead, MN. We can fit about 15 units in here at a time.

You said you use 2 transducers to have an unobstructed view for side imaging , you then side you use 1 screen for side imaging? When I had 2 transducers I had to use 2 screens too make that work , how do you get both transducers to show up on one screen? Where can I get some of those screen brackets in the back?
@Forrestleitch Жыл бұрын
The Humminbird Y-cable (9 M SILR Y) allows you to plug 2 side imaging transducers into one unit, splitting the beams for left/right. The graphs are mounted on Cisco Sure-Lok mounts.
