WHY I OFTEN DON'T MENTION OTHER BRANDS IN MY VIDEOS.
You may have noticed that I often don't mention the original brands that watches I am reviewing pay homage to. This is very intentional and not meant to offend you or the original brands. I lost my first channel in October 2020 which I had spent 9 months growing and invested a significant amount of money in simply because I had mentioned the original brands in some of my videos. There are people who try to use KZfaqs lack of understanding when it comes to the difference between homage watches and fake watches to attack other channels and their owners and sadly I fell foul of this in 2020. This channel was also attacked recently and KZfaq deleted content simply because I had said 'subby homage' and 'Rolex homage' in two videos despite the watches in the videos being perfectly legal homage watches. Please understand that I can not afford to risk my channel so I will no longer be mentioning other brands when reviewing homage watches.

I love Cronos watches! I'm at 8 now. I think their Submariner homage is the best there is. But why, why, why do they have to keep making these watches with the crazy names?! I'm not just talking about them but the Chinese in general. They need to have a native English speaker on staff to run these names by before they commit to putting them on a dial. From all the past criticism, you would think they would have learned by now.

When coming up with a name you must do a search to make sure no one else has the rights to that name. When you make up a nonsense string of letters you don't have to search because no one will have trademarked it as a brand name.

Currently, AliExpress listings are $188, $223, and $277 for the identical watch. At $188, this is worth considering for an 8205, but the range of prices is typical AliE confusion.

I'd much rather they'd used a Miyota 9015 and charged a bit more, than use an 8000 series one. Also they definitely need to do something with that butterfly clasp. It doesn't matter how nice looking the watch is, if you can't get it to fit properly.

The brand name, spelling and the script on the dial are a bit unfortunate, and I'm also not a fan of the design ... but the rest of the watch looks remarkably high quality. And, honestly, I'm not hugely surprised that this factory does work for Swiss brands - the one Cronos I own is incredibly well finished - especially for the price. Seeing how "Swiss Made"-rules are incredibly lax and convoluted, it's to be expected that they source at least some of their components from China. I also seem to remember that they tried to make those rules a bit stricter last year or so, but that nearly all manufacturers who had a say in this effort were against going through with it. Probably because if they had implemented those stricter rules, lots of entry level Swiss brands wouldn't be able to call their products "Swiss Made" any longer unless they made some costly changes to their supply-lines... :D

I like the design but for me a little bit more polishing somewhere is required nothing major ,I just get the impression of slightly too much brushing. Wether its on the case or bracelet it needs something to break it up. However having said that I could still buy this as it is and enjoy it

The style and finishing are beautiful, but shrink it down a bit, 39mm would be perfect and offer maybe even a PT5000 or 9xxxx series Miyota and you'd have a stunner and a seller.

Beautiful watch. Decent enough name, though with their elegant logo, that should be prominently on the dial. Lately, I’ve gravitated toward larger watches (eg. Panerai styled), but for this watch, the design with the large dial does look overly large. I think this watch at 40-41mm, keeping the proportions the same, would be ideal. That all-brushed bracelet is near-enough perfect (zero polish is perfect), and the brushed faceted bezel is superb. And they should just switch to the NH36 day-date, even if it makes the watch 1mm thicker. Boderry made the mistake of initially using the Miyota 8215 in their titanium Voyager field watch. But after just a couple of months and customer feedback, they switched to the NH35. I hope this brand makes the same change in future models. Again, this is an excellent first offering!

Oooh... If they made a smaller 39mm version of the watch ( probably leave out a day/date). I don't have a problem with their being a super huge version.... But it's too big to actually work for the majority of consumers. Really nice finishing, Dial, hands and indices... Case shape.... I think there was so a lot more if they also made a smaller version. Need some kind of micro-adjust... Shorter links (or 1.5x sized Links assist work)... Especially problematic on a watch of that size!!!

Interesting watch. The finishing on the bracelet looks nice -- adding any polishing would look out of place. A standard milled clasp with adjustment links, if it would be possible with this bold bracelet design, might be preferable. While the finishing is very nice, it needs a better movement, better lume, better AR coating, better brand name. Given the nice finishing, all of the other watch components need to be comparable -- since the bold design and finishing imply such -- and raise the price for such elements. In a way, it's an interesting proto-type, but it needs to go back to the design team.

Nice enough, definitely more than worth that marked price..... However, a Rolex is a Rolex by any other name. It has earned it's name and anyone making silly comparisons either can't get one, or afford one! To conclude.. It is quiet jealousy! 😂

Why so much hate for the Miyota 8 series? These movements are far superior than the Seiko NH movements. The Miyota are far more accurate out the box, than most movements that have been adjusted! Big deal that the rotor only winds in one direction, and spins with a slight whine, but so do the Swiss Valjoux 7750 movements… no one crying over that.

The stuttering seconds hand is unappealing as they can often look like they are faulty and the rotors are not quiet, probably the noisiest rotors I’ve ever heard.

@@ilikewatches you are thinking of the older 8 series. The new 8 series have a smoother sweep, smoother rotor, and hacking. I still found that the previous version of the 8 series was still much more accurate than the NH movements, but yes, there was somewhat of a stutter on certain positions of the watch when the watch was placed in a certain position when in use. The rotor noise is reslly more audible on certain case designs on where the caseback is thinner, and possibly thinner case and crystal on certain watches, which is also the case with the Valjoux movements, minus the noticeable hand stutter of the previous 8 series movement. Great channel!

I don't understand why all these aliexpress watch companies don't come up with decent names. Maybe spend a few Dollars and hire someone to get some reasonable name ideas for their watches, or even better, just a cool logo. Example this watch: beautiful, but who buys this with this stupid name on the face? Same with Pagani Design, it literally is the sole reason why I never bought one. PD finally shift now to only have their logo on the face. All these aliexpress companies could literally triple their sales by having reasonable names or logos on their watches

@Thomas-cz2vg I did get what I ordered but the quality was far from what advertised. It was essentially worthless they offered me 150$ or I could ship it back. The seller gave me a wrong adress, so it was impossible to ship back. Then my money was gone stolen.

This is the same reason why many poor people continue to buy designer clothes and sneakers, impractically living beyond their means. Does it offer more warmth or comfort than a generic brand? Maybe a little. When I say "The vast majority", I'm not referring to those folks that understand the terms movement, complications, or know the difference between a mechanical, automatic, and quartz watch. I don't have to do research, you just need to work on your comprehension of how our society works.

Dude, even if the brand name wasn't unintelligible and in a "people think this is fancy" font, it's printed on a big flat rectangle on the textured dial! If you choose a dial with a texture that makes printing difficult, don't do a printed logo; do an applied logo. It's like having a license plate on the dial. NEVER a good look.
