1885 Meneely bell with automatic swinging motor

2 ай бұрынA 37” bronze bell cast by Clinton H Meneely Bell Company in 1885. This bell is in original condition including the wood spoke wheel and cast iron stands and yoke. A cable actuated swinging motor has been fitted, replacing the original rope pull. #bells #churchbells #machinery #technician

What is the tone of the bell?

While this is not a tuned bell, the strike tone is a “C”.

@@DingDongitsthebellguy As I hear, the prime 'humming' tone (I don't really know the right phrase for it) is B flat, so it's incorrect to the strike tone C, but the tierce (third tone) is correct, it's E flat. There are many other bells with these sound properties, like in my country, Hungary.
