Ehh. Byłem przekonany, że pierwszy komentarz jaki zobaczę, będzie polski i będzie dotyczył właśnie znajomości angielskiego. Kiedy my się tego oduczymy? Dlaczego na to zwracamy uwagę? Mamy przypadki aktorów/aktorek którzy weszli do hollywoodu z mizerną znajomością języka (Ana de Armas, pierwszy przykład z brzegu), ale czuję że Polak by został od razu zjechany przez rodaków gdyby pochwalił się gorszą wymową (jak Tomasz Kot).

Because that was his role? It's normal that actors are having roles where they need to pretent that they speak/don't speak the language, are changing accents or sometimes are even playing characters that can't speak at all.

It was a bit odd, especially with the few that appeared to know multiple languages, they weren't asked for specifics, such as the woman who was chaperoning the two Chinese women, "So you apparently understand German, Chinese, and English. Do you understand any others?" or people getting frustrated with not being able to understand each other.

@@gosiar5575 Most importantly, they help themselves with gestures. Secondly, they don't speak in full complex sentences but ditch grammar and try to focus on communicating key words. Thirdly, they don't stick to their mother tongue when they know other languages someone understands. Fourthly (is that a word?) they speak very slowly and clearly especially when talking to someone whose language is closely related (like French and Spanish) in hope of other person figuring out similar words. Fifthly (whatever, I'll go with it) they quickly start picking important words from other languages and start to create sort of common vocabulary. For instance I would expect everybody to learn either German or English words for Bridge, Main Deck, Cabin etc.

Agree 100% When I go abroad to a country whose language I do not know, I communicate it the language that’s closest to the language of the country (for instance in Polish when I go to Czech Republic), use gestures, and use a simple structure for my sentences. Something about the show felt very off, now I know what it is. I would also expect some of the kids to pick up the other languages easier
