Great description of the apron's practical uses. The shoes are a very good representation of 18th c shoes. And people love to see how women used pins to hold it all together! But then... Sigh... A woman would put her stays on over her shift - Chemise and fichu are French terms that weren't in common use until the early 19thc. Nor were pockets worn on the outside, even with the most exquisite needlework. The haversack was a military item made of heavy linen. And if women in the Wyoming Valley could afford it and were of a sufficient social status they would have dressed fashionably, even showing some 'skin' for more formal occasions. Thought it over and over again before posting, and decided to because people learn from videos like this. Best and current research has updated and given our knowledge of clothing more historically accurate terms. Sure the docents and the historical society want to present this lovely historical house to its best and most accurate advantage.

Oh my god whoever did the audio in the beginning of this video please do not do any more audio work. Either you were heavy breathing in the microphone the entire time or the person who corrected the audio to lay over the video did not edit those parts out which they should’ve and it is so annoying to listen to.
