At 53 and taking up a stringed musical instrument (with some enthusiasm now), this helped this old man no end. Had my ukulele now for almost 4 years hardy played it. Watched this and not only can I now play cords and have some idea of what this magical little instrument can do...... the penny dropped also. What the exercises get you. Out of the box thinking.... Simply brilliant. Thank you.

This has been my favorite one yet. There are all kinds of resources out there for new players but I have a hard time finding things that challenge me without feeling totally overwhelmed and this fit the bill perfectly.

What a fun class! Great information! New ideas! Make as many mistakes as you can; playing F on just the E string; playing slow and clean; ways to learn Campanella style; and weight loss tips from Corey 😊. (By the way, you look great, Corey.) The descending and ascending arpeggios would be great exercise. Great pinky practice. Practice, practice, practice. Need to find the sheet music. 😊❤️😊💜😊💚😊💙

True; "slow songs are the hardest..." Kalei. Fitting in licks with so much time space overall, throughout a whole verse, is intense. It's like an optical (audio) illusion.

What Corey said ... Practice, practice, practice. I find a lot of ukulele resources online are great, but they'd only get you so far in your ukulele journey. It'd be useful if there was a resource doing the kinds of exercises Corey spoke about out there, the kind of skill building that allows people who do the process to then go off and extrapolate on their own.

Having access to his music online is fantastic! It can propel a beginner forward where they would just stagnate with strumming chords. I don't think it kills creativity at all. At some point the beginner has all the skills to find their own way and work out their own improvisations. So sorry Tobias I don't think I agree with you on that point.

Oh it is fantastic. There's no doubt that having access to all the great information on how to play 'ukulele allows the players to play more! It's really amazing times we live in where most stuff are available right at your hands. Players can download tabs and listen to so much different kinda music and play it straight away. On the other hand, I do feel that students end up copying more than creating. I see quite a few people being very good at reading tabs, but when tabs or sheet music isn't available, most people are not in the head space of having to struggle hard for learning the piece and therefore won't try to figure out the music themselves. I do think struggling with a piece of music for months calls for a different kinda attention - where the player has to make more conscious decisions and plenty of valuable mistakes. Eventually they have to listen more and maybe it could aspire players to not play exactly how the tabs and music was played. That being said, I'm sure that this isn't the case for everyone and there certainly are plenty of great players out there nowadays.

The talking & playing are as well enjoyable! I really take these Uke Talks as kinds of radio podcasting & keep them playing. And, may I ask for sheet music of Corey's playing of Merry Go Round of Life (1:54:29)? This has been my favourite song from Ghibli! Please see if you guys would have spare time to transcribe it!

Thank you very much for being honest. Even though you use the same song bit to demo ukes, you are adjusting how you play the strings to compensate for weaknesses in the uke. I appreciate the skill. It does not help me compare the ukes or learn about those weaknesses. What should I do?

You should go back to the editing bay & cut this down to 8 fifteen minute videos. It'll get more views, help more people and as a bonus, generate more ad revenue for you. There is a ton of good info here, but not everyone has 2 hrs to spend. Otherwise, great job.
