Air flow in the cabin filter is supposed to be facing down
@miguelbordoy3306 Жыл бұрын
That was good to learn watching your. The Acura dealer was charging my wife over $300 to change the air and cabin filters. I purchased both for less that $40 and will install it myself thanks to your video

Great, real easy to do. Just remember the cabin filter arrow should be facing down. Apparently, on the plastic housing shows up. Don’t know if it was a design mistake or not.

$29.90 at Amazon for both! Tysm for your video. Very helpful. I learned something new today. Hubby & I did it together and we were able to change both of them. He already knew a bit more but I was excited to learn. Pretty cool. Plus we Saved $80+ changing them at home and not at the dealer. Thanks!

I think the airflow direction is downward for the cabin filter while you mentioned it to be upward. I am confused as other videos also mention it downwards. thanks for the engine air filter steps and they helped a lot.

I use to work in a auto shop main office and learned a lot but needed a refresher on how to change my filters for my code 2 service needed. So thank you for this.

Thanks for video - dealer wanted $80 EACH for the engine and also the cabin filter 😮

Why does no one show reconnecting the plastic inlet to the airbox. Getting that rubber piece to seat was by far the trickiest thing to figure out.

Thanks for the video. I was looking for tutorials for changing engine filter. Just a pointer with Cabin air filter, if you bought the filter from the factory with just the arrow up only, then you placed the arrow up. If you bought it from store, it'll usually say “air flow down” then you placed it with the arrow down. It’s confusing indeed.
@russelloneal75692 жыл бұрын
when you pulled the old ca filter out the arrow was down, when you put the new one in you put the arrow up. Confusing but I think the up on the door shows how to put it in , not the filter itself.
@andeejames66842 жыл бұрын
The arrow is facing up, I was showing the kind of filter I bought and it was facing down. When I installed the filter arrow it was facing up like it was shown on the cover. Just remember the arrow is up and filter arrow is up.
@garyallman30392 жыл бұрын
@@andeejames6684 As Russell ONeal said above, the arrow on the cover seems to only apply to the direction of the cover itself, not the filter. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pdGhg5l7x83GoZc.html shows that the factory filter was installed with the arrow facing down.
@andeejames66842 жыл бұрын
@@garyallman3039 You can also say the filter was installed wrong at the factory because the plastic panel cover points to it going up. Either way someone from Honda messed up the first time. As for me, I will just follow the plastic cover arrow. I don't really think it matters much because the filter will catch the debris anyway. Good catch though

@@andeejames6684 I am sorry but Honda filter arrow facing down . I just checked in my 2021 RDX .so it is confusing
@niteboyzzz1 Жыл бұрын
great vid very helpful! but the filter should be installed with arrow facing down, when you pull the old one out, you can see some dirt on top, the clean side is facing down which tells you the flow is facing down. The filter has direction because you can't install it backward or the air flow and debris won't filter out properly.

Its strange that Acura put out the arrow on the plastic cover facing up. They should have corrected that
@cantire1234 Жыл бұрын
@@andeejames6684 I think the arrow on the outisde plastic is just so you know how to put back the plastic. Agree they should make it the same as the filter so easier to follow. I noticed you put reversed too. Another feedback, would have been nice to see a video of you removing the clips in the earlier part. Like, how to remove the 2 clips on the carry over tube. My bro in law did it for me last time but he broke a clip, good thing he got me a replacement clip from work but now I don't want to break it again. ha

the thread on one of the screws is sorta messed up as the dealer who replaced it didn't do it well. how do I unscrew the screw with screw driver? what's the best way to loosen the screw

@@andeejames6684 thanks much. I was able to remove it with a screw driver. also, I finally figured that I need tack puller to remove the air duct.

Hey Andee how did you remove the plastic clips on engine cover? Thanks!
@andeejames6684 Жыл бұрын
You can use a trim tool removal tool or if you do not have one then use a flat head screw driver. Careful not to break the plastic in the process.

@@siraposu use a flat head screw driver or trim removal tool. The clips are easy to remove once you pull out the tab in the middle.

arrow on cover is only for cover installation direction. All Honda techs replace the filter with air flow downward. great video otherwise!

It really doesn't matter
@richardking7091Ай бұрын
@@valvodkafor sure it does, since OEM marks direction, and the carbon filters I use have carbon only on 1 side
