Old motorcycles are there to be ridden ! My 1905 Triumph is, to my knowledge, one of two survivors to this type, and the only one on the road. To go out on it for a ride is such a joy !

Just imagine the thrill of riding this bike in 1905, you can almost count the explosions.

I had a 1928 Triumph TT, the one with the valve on the head. Congratulations on the rare motorcycle. Congratulations again for working.

Brilliant! Wonderful to see lovely old bits of kit out and about, instead of gathering dust in a museum!. Good on you!.

Brilliant video, the use of selfiestick gives us a great view instead of the usual endless headlight and road ahead from other tubers marvellous thankyou.

I really fancy getting something older to play with. 40s and 50s bikes are very modern in comparison.

I was unaware Triumph was making motorcycles that early, obviously being in the U.S. it was Indian and Harley. Absolutely love the bike.

Invest in a wind-screen for your cameras' mic. Common problem with these tiny, "electret" condenser mics. Very simple technology for 1905, no clutch, no transmission, no twist-throttle, direct belt-drive, etc. "De-compressor", in the USA we call it a "Compression release". I like how you pump the pedal crank to speed, then release the compression lever to fire the engine. Does not get much more basic than that. Very fun vid!

Thanks for your comments GereDG, much appreciated. The bike is really a joy to ride, and considering it is direct-drive, it is a very soft ride. This movie was one of my first (check my others ;-)), and I believe I only used my mobile phone. Have upgraded to a pocket camera now. Which has a noise-reduction function (which I have not tried though...🙂)...

Hi, decompressor cable original?
@nickjonckheere9951 Жыл бұрын
It was absent when I bought the project, but I believe it is conform the original spec now. I was able to look at the only other survivor in the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull, I believe that one is totally original.

It runs because it's a simple machine. Now bike's have semiconductors and engines are really complicated, if you want speed and various sh*t you'll get more complicated machine.
