I thought you might like a look at this 0-4-0 Narrow Gauge Saddle type locomotive. It was used by the Laclede-Christy company of St. Louis Missouri up until they donated it in 1952. I hope you find it interesting, thanks for watching!
Filmed at the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis, Missouri
Background track is Whiskey on the Mississippi by Kevin MacLeod. Available under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license. Download link:music.incompetech.com/royaltyf...
MacLeod's description:
Genre: Blues
Length: 3:15
Instruments: Guitar, Bass, Kit, Organ, EP
Tempo: 90
With a jumping bass and off-beat syncopation, this is straight from Memphis' Beale Street. The Hammond organ and electric guitar play together as longtime friends, while the melody changes hands from guitar to organ to electric piano. 011

@rogerstill71 I agree, Mr. Doble sure knew how to build a car. I assume you've seen the videos on Jay Leno's site...if not, you should give them a look. Thanks for watching!

@Bevoin1970 We had some of that going on over here for a while. People were stealing air conditioners, catalytic converters....even clipping power lines, just so they could scrap the metal.

It should have number 1 on it. Great to see an old railroad item.

@greasedupgamer I know they have a Boston & Providence train, called the Daniel Nason, from the mid-1800's. That is probably the oldest, but I'm not positive.

if u like trains, u should come to Hong Kong becuase theres a train museum around based on an old train station that people used in the 20s-the 50s. There are loads of old trains, you can go into some and take pics. Besides the trains, they have the tickets stand and shows u how people control the train tracks.

The only time I have ever seen stuff like this here in England is on old black & white films... :-) BTW - with the price of scrap metal being what it is here in the Uk right now, which is very high, that engine would have been stripped down and sold to scrap dealers by now, by unscrupulous types out on the make... Its a big problem over here, anything made of metal is being stolen and sold on.

Neat engineering trick for this 0-4-0st Davenport: The fireman's-side cab wall doubled as a fuel bunker to hold a modest load of anthracite for the firebox. The driver's post is a little cramped, with the throttle ratchet alongside the seat and the reverse/cut-off ratchet well ahead - this saddle-tanker must have had mining as one of its intended applications.
