You know these cars as well as anyone. Do you have any suggestions on keeping them going? Or suggestions on what to do when they do not work? I tell people the best thing they can do for the car is drive it regularly and keep fresh fuel in it.

@@Mercedes-Guru ; The manual called for inspection and service every 3,000 miles, 6,000 miles and 12,000 miles for a Major inspection. They all include oil and filters. Most are common sense. Sad some don't have a manual. Will you an amazing job. Remember to check nuts and bolts everywhere. I remember driving one from Pasadena to Denver Colorado only stopping for fuel and had to have a tail pipe repair as I entered Colorado. Inspection is most important.

@@JPER-cv2lq All good points. The nuts holding the intake/exhaust to the cylinder head need to be checked. The use of a 14mm with universal works well. These are self-locking nuts that will loosen with time and allow the intake manifold to lose contact with the head.

@@Mercedes-Guru ; Correct. Some don't reinstall the airhorn support bracket. Actually we could both edit a very long list of things. Experience taught me ; in order to make some necessary repairs one has to dismantle 20 items before you get to the subject. Good night from Germany . Hello greetings from Poland! I'm a little stuck looking for a spark in 190sl so I made a very short video maybe you could advise what I'm doing wrong to find a spark. I think coil is OK because I tested it using some YT tutorial. Looking for a problem maybe in wire coming from coil to distributor or a negative wire going from coil to distributor I'm confused. Hello. Good video, thank you. I think you need to look inside the distributor. Things to look for: the points are not set correctly, the points are oxidized, the points are grounded. The points are an electrical switch. The electricity goes in one side and out the other, unless the electrical path is blocked. In addition to the points being an electrical path, the points must also open and close correctly. When the points open they allow the electric field inside the coil to collapse and travel thru the coil wire to the center of the distributor cap. I hope this helps.
