Big thanks to the owner for his time and for sharing his model TT. It’s a wonder cars caught on at all if you had to hop your legs about like that just to drive it! 3 positions just on the clutch pedal, far too complicated.

Yeah he was great =) very knowledgeable he could explain how things worked far better than I even could. Clutch is a lot like a motor cycle clutch.. in ways. =)

My TT is a 1926 C-cab. High compression head and 270 cam. Warford aux trans with overdrive, and express gears in the rear. I also put hydraulic disc brakes on the rear, and a foot feed on the floor.

The Model A ‘s that came out in 1928 were a huge improvement in so many ways!

I’m a huge model A fan it’s almost a sin that one hasn’t been featured on the channel yet and AA is the truck I really wanted with Mitchell overdrive behind to make it go faster.. I’ve read not sure how true it is stock A engine with Mitchell and different gears could do 70 mph and get around 20 mpg in a 1 ton truck, think about that new 1 tons don’t get that.. and they have electronic direct injection, computers and still can’t even come close.

They will probably break the brake or something but a thief won't know how to drive it away. LoL

Probably could catch them pretty easily too considering TT went 22 MPH stock top speed

An older man near me had a 1925 C cab that had wood spoke wheels with a speedo max. 45. His father bought it new to haul produce to the market, I last saw it being hauled off on a flatbed after his death.

My 26 TT has the two speed rear end and an auxillary Chicago transmission. Haven't mastered the shifting with non syncro gears. We have used mine to haul fencing on our property.

You’ll get there it takes a lot of practice I’ve never driven a 26TT but I’ve driven vehicles where you have to double clutch both accelerating and decelerating decelerating is harder because you have to rev match the engine to slide it where it needs to slide in without grinding it.. So happy to hear that you have a 1926 TT and you use it =)

That was an awesome treat, I’m so happy Dan explained it all I figured it would be easier for him to explain it because he drives it in the cool thing is he’s younger than me.. so that’s hope. I met him about a month ago same car show asked him if we could do that for the Channel, you should’ve been there to see him drive that in there it’s amazing seeing something like that move down the road and then when you look up and see that there is a young man driving it people twice his age had respect. It doesn’t Drive or operate like anything now.. it’s almost more tractor than truck. It was super cool and I’m sure he will be back on the channel again sometime =)

the transmission was a planetary type, which was pretty close to the automatic transmission. There is also a Model AA Truck that came out with the Model A's in 1928.

Jay said (TeTee) He HE!!! I do love Model T's Thanks to you and Dan (the MAN) You can see love & knowledge there. One of my best memories is one I saw in Silverton, CO near the train station. The engine was running too. Jay, I'm not sure If you like steam, but, railroad vacations are sooo fun esp. with a great travel best bud. I've even gotten in some great cab rides. Funny note about theft of one (impossible) Some crook made it into Boeing Plant in WA. The building was so massive that he got overwhelmed and surrendered! Can you image a crook trying to get away in this TT.

Two things come to mind when I think of running from somebody in a model TT, O jay Simpson case and side show bob from the simpsons in the Wright bro’s airplane.. if you’ve never seen it I’m going to find the link and share it, it’s funny.. I love all modes of transport, I especially love the fact England still uses their steam engines and they book at like 70-75mph I’ve never been there but watched that top gear episode were Jeremy had to be the fireman.. he worked shoving coal even just the thought of how hot it would be in the cab.. it would be like standing in a metal forge. I watch a lot of stories on ocean liners too titanic, britannic, oceanic, lusitania, Mauritania, normandy, etc I want to go to Colorado so bad it looks so pretty can afford to do this year.. never been there only been out west once I was 16 Las Vegas and California dad hit a tumble weed with the rental car just to say he did. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iKpnatGq1KvdpZs.html

Thanks for showing us this cool Model TT truck! The controls seemed very complicated and different (for example the throttle on the steering wheel column) but the owner Dan broke them down really nicely. I would've loved to be at that show. Also is it just me or was that California Dreamin' I heard playing in the background towards the beginning of the footage you showed? Once again, thank you Jay for the cool video, keep up the great work and have a nice day :)

Yeah mamas and papas when I was editing the video I was like I really hope this doesn’t get blocked.. it’s not my fault we wasn’t even really close to the music they were far away from us picked it up really good.. Dan broke everything down and explain perfectly I could’ve done a better job myself.. The funny thing is is I’m more of a behind-the-scenes kind of guy I know cameras I know camera angles and the right thing to get shots waiting is sometimes an issue. I have an awesome camera as well that I can shoot insanely high iso quality I’m not entirely sure how high I can go before video is is unusable, A couple videos back there was it was really dark with the 61 Cadillac video I was that Iso 10,000 the camera will go to 125,000 but will look like Swiss cheese.. more of a marketing thing I haven’t pushed it past 12,000 in video I figured at 10,000 I could probably edit it and post and it wouldn’t get grainy, but those ones were still a little darker than I wanted them to be I love the shots of Dan talking about the model TT it’s shot almost like first person as if you’re standing there listening to him talk about it. Super complicated vehicle to drive, That is until I guess you get used to it and then it becomes second nature just like everything else

The 8N Ford tractor four cylinder engine is very similar. Braking is sort of sketchy about it without any power steering. Those model T's are about the same with Braking.

I’ve always wanted to drive a Ford 8N tractor.. I was out in the country we’ve had 1952 McCormick Farmall I learned how to drive that when I was just kid.. maybe 8 years old drove my grandpas 1995 f150 through the fields we used to pick tomatoes and beans peppers take to the markets to sell.. that almost seems like a totally different life ago, grandpa was my best friend, he died when I was 16.. but yeah I loved the 52 farmall the sounds the smells.. eight year old me had a really hard time pushing the clutch down because I didn’t have enough weight to do it I would have to stand on it to get it to engage I wasn’t tall enough to sit on the seat and push the clutch down I will really work for a long period of time.. and the brakes were even harder to push down. Farmall had calavators that’s what we used it for. I had to sell the tractor a couple years back I needed the money I didn’t have enough money to fix it I couldn’t get it to start or run I think the magneto went bad

Yes, the VW out sold the Model T in total numbers however, it took almost twice as long to break that record. If one wanted to apply the 20 years that Model T's were made specifically in a side-by-side comparison for the same time frame for VW's, the Model T wins!!!

Interest rates are though the roof even if you have great credit. I only bought one new car ever will never do that again it’s a losing proposition... unless you drive the wheels off the car. Take a Honda Odyssey for example pay on average of 40k for it after 10 years 100k niles its a $10,000 van (used to be cheaper but Covid screwed that all up prices haven’t come back down.. they will in time tho they are starting to drop, in the used car market) Honestly that’s my approach to anything anymore is I don’t wanna be the fall guy or the guy that takes all of the loss.. I just took a 2001 Honda Odyssey minivan to the junkyard that I paid $1800 for and I got six years out of honestly that’s the best scenario because $1800 is nothing for a car and I put 100,000 miles on that van and it didn’t give me any major issues I only took it to the junkyard because it needed everything the windshield cracked and it was gonna cost more money to keep it on the road than it was worth.. because things did eventually wear out and stuff but it all became optional like power steering became optional do you want power steering or would you like manual steering you could put power steering fluid in but it leaked like a sieve. All the solenoids were gone in the transmission so it didn’t shift right if you put it in automatic and just wait but if you shifted it manually it was fine.. it was pretty ghetto by the end of it but at least I wasn’t out 40 grand..
