Another day another classic car stopping by for a little bit of love, attention, and creative modification solutions! In this video we crawl under a customer's modified 1940 Ford Deluxe coupe hot rod, pretty cool car they just need a little help getting over some hurdles to get it even better.
A huge portion of what we do in the hot rod and classic car world isn't the actual BUILDING of these cars, it's helping people maintain/improve/repair something they already have. Whether it's a project they have built themselves at home in a garage, recently purchased, an inherited machine, or a vehicle they just haven't had time for and are wanting to return to the road. We always are here to help move these machines forward.
So what are we talking about here? Well step 1, get the rear shocks situation figured out because what is currently on this car is CERTAINLY not going to work. There's some sloppiness in the steering that needs to be resolved, and while we're under there take a look at the shifter linkage to see what we can do to tighten that up. No major surgery here just taking care of a few bits and pieces to move the project forward.
Huge thanks as always to all our subscribers, followers, fans, and customers who have made our business successful and gotten our channel to where it is today. Special thanks to the SRC / Street Racing Channel / SRC Garage / Old Man's Garage / Junkyard Digs folks for showing such amazing support for us over the past several months. Without all of you we wouldn't be anywhere near where we are today. We hope you enjoy this one!

One of the reasons we love doing what we do and take such care of cars is seeing them leaving the shop in better shape and more fun than they were before. Getting rid of roadblocks for the owners and moving them forward in their journey. Very cool to be a small part of so many machines.

It’s the attention to detail while building the car that takes the most time. It’s not just stuff the engine in and your done. You’ve always had that attention to detail Rich.

It's those little details that take a vehicle from a frustrating project, to a drivable enjoyable toy. This one has a few more bits left but we helped move it forward pretty well.

Call it job security if you are the only shop that'll work on these old cars.
@LucoreAuto
@LucoreAuto 2 жыл бұрын
Lol that certainly is true, there aren't many shops that are willing to, or capable of working on this sort of stuff. Unfortunately a lot of the time it's not really profitable either, there are lots of starts and stops and hunting for parts in most of these jobs that hold up "rack time". But we do it because we love it, and to keep more of these machines on the road generating smiles.

Oh it certainly could have gone badly fortunately this project really hasn't been driven since it was built. Cars like this that have changed hands multiple times you really never know what kinds of challenges are ahead... and what fixes you have to fix 😉

@@LucoreAuto I do not disagree with you there Austin. A good many cars from that era, Ford or otherwise, had outstanding body-lines. But I'm a Dodge guy first with Chevy as my backup... it's just in my nature to bash on Ford's and imports. 😏 🤣 Side Note: I'm given to understand that the reason cars were so sexy back in the 50's/60's was due to them being modeled on the human feminine form. All the curves and protruding headlights and tail fins leads me to believe this...
@LucoreAuto
@LucoreAuto 2 жыл бұрын
@@Loki13M there's definitely truth to that as well as just a desire to make beautiful sculptured THINGS. You had manufacturers changing cars every year or two, pushing designs, keeping things simple and repairable, improving features... today's automotive industry is a completely different animal.
@Loki13M
@Loki13M 2 жыл бұрын
@@LucoreAuto Again, no argument from me. And it all started in the 70's with 'Smog Control' and the EPA. Though I will admit, some of the modern features they are coming out with now are reminiscent of those early years. Like the useful tailgate mods and onboard generators (credit to Ford here). But none of the manufacturers are working towards making the new cars easier to fix, hell most people these days can't even change basic fluids because it's too complex. Personally I haven't bought or leased a new car since 2003 because of the numerous onboard computers and my total lack of understanding how to make them talk to each other or me right. Long irritating story there to do with a 2003 Honda... 😡 Long story short, it went back to the dealership on a flatbed where I told them to keep the POS and give me my broke down 84 Suburban back.
