Thank you for sharing! I was on the board a few years back for Seattle Skating Club and there are photos of these shows all over the office. It is great to see a video. I was the Secretary at the time. The minutes were such a treasure to read. History is so wonderful!

The year must be 1949 given the shot of the Orpheum Theater marquee for the world premier of the movie Canadian Pacific starring Randolph Scott.

This definitely blows my mind, grew up in seattle in the 50s and was running those streets at age 10 and remember seeing most things thier showing here and more😎

Just finished reading "Boys in the Boat," about the 1936 rowing team that won the 1936 Olympics. It is a very interesting history of rowing at the University of Washington and some history of Seattle. Julie

Wonderful footage. Wish there was explanation around lots of it. This seems mostly late forties after the war ,but not sure. Thanks for putting these things on line!

Looking in the very window of time it was all very real About 20 yrs before my gma & gpa moved to burien, I recall being excited to go to Seattle when wed visit them Bring back these vintage businesses, signs and neon signs just modernized but without ruiniation of the originals

Part of the footage at 6:56 may have been taken at the Orpheum Theatre around May or June 1949, as the Randolph Scott movie "Canadian Pacific" came out that time.

I think it's earlier than 1948, judging by the cars They look like they are from the 1930s, or very early 1940s, pre-war.

@@davidfrank6664 Which makes me wonder if that was the legendary Ivar "Keep Clam!" Haglund at the microphone congratulating the winner. The guy looks to be 40-43, Ivar's age at the time.
