A short look at some vintage dealer brochures of the 1940 Willy's Overland Coupe and Sedans. We take a look at the different trim levels and discuss the pricing of the various models and compare them to what the "Todays" pricing would be.
Kick back and enjoy a walk down memory lane with us. If you were lucky enough to visit a dealership, you may remember the brochures you could flip through of the models available for that particular year. Today, we're bringing the brochure to you.

Hi Char, nice car, nice video, nice dealer sales brochure! The value of the Willys Overland's keep going up and up, according to Old Cars Magazine's annual Old Cars Report Price Guide. I think of the 1940 Willys as a mini 1940 Ford. By the way, Willys is pronounced "willis" not "willeez". Please reply. Dave...

Lol, I've heard it pronounced several ways as well. I just stick to how I was introduced to it... It's been a long while since I've seen one at a show. I think folks are hiding them away. Thanks for the comment.

That was the fate of many '40='42 Willys coupes in the 1950s. They were so light and easy to hot-rod it's hard to find one in original shape today. If I'm not mistaken, was the four-cylinder engine used here the same engine that wound up in the Army Jeeps in World War II?

Same engine, similar power output, jeep may have had 63 hp. I love these cars.

I love the video, but I hate to have to complain for the 8 millionth time, the name of the car is pronounced WILLIS, NOT WILLY'S, OR WILLIE'S. It was named after a man named John North Willys, pronounced WILLIS, who founded the company that made the car in 1908. Otherwise, wonderful video, great brochure, excellent information. Sorry for the rant, but it drives me crazy. Just saw Dave's comment below...sorry to double down...
