Those are Bosch & Lomb (B&L). They are exceptional, I have two of them. You found an excellent pair. I wouldn’t cut anything. You can have lens made at an optician. If you weld you can have welding lenses made.

main thing is never wear some else's glasses. i worked night shift $18/hr in a plastics factory we all had to wear safety glasses they provided them up on a rack next to the time clock. factory work is hot humid we were all soaking in sweat and everyone of us got pink eye infections. i had it both eyes. it comes on quick in 1 day. went to the er that night never went back to that place ever now i keep several new pair in my car. the 3M ones with black frame are nice

I had no clue them glasses are worth anything, I have my grandfathers in my basement for about 25 years, He work at Republic Iron and Steel Company Youngstown Works, Ohio. I just got a new prescription ,I'm going see if I can get them put into them, That so cool to see that people are trying to find them & use them, his are Wilson

I watched your for video about 3 mins then I rushed and bought me my own project! 1940s WW2 red motorcycle welsh sunglasses. I got a great price at $60 since the arm is broken in half, then I ordered side temples and the leather covers for them for another $60. Now I need to wait then get them prescribed… I’m not sure if I should keep them red, maybe you can help me decide?

First of all, for the time period '40s/'50s, that would be late DieselPunk or AtomPunk. "SteamPunk®" has been compromised. Also, if it's something that actualy did exist in that time period, it really isn't AnythingPunk, merely just nostalgia or antique. Sorry to be "that guy", it's because I've lost interest in most things labeled steampunk because of the saturation of all things labeled such.
