Çharlie Kunz had a magical unique style of his own. He was a great artiste but he was lucky that in his day there were lots of great Songwriters with great songs for him to play. Wonderful melodies which we have allowed to drift into oblivion and replaced with primitive sounds masqueraded as music. Were it not for the wonder of KZfaq and the diligence of Uploaders there would be no music at all as radio airwaves have been void of it for decades.

I think his style was called vamping or something similar. What I find the most impressive is his faithful use of diminished, 6ths, 9ths, augmented chords, which are the ones that stir the heart; unfortunately omitted by many of today's popular pianists,

Wow nice rendition. Never knew him until now... such nostalgic songs . These are songs of my father and uncle. Our home is full of this kind of tempo.

Really good medley from Charlie, sounds as though it was probably both sides of a 78 originally. I know I've said this before but his influence on Mrs.Mills is even more evident on this medley - just add Glad's 'twiddly' bits.

Charlie Kunz always worked out wonderful arrangements with well constructed chords, but blimey his weird dynamics were always way off! What he played softly should have been the loud peak of the crescendos. Am I the only fool to notice this?

I prefer Oscar Petersen myself, or Michel Petrucianni.
