A brief history of De Havilland DH-82A Tiger Moth II (DE971) built in 1943 by the Morris Motor Company at their Cowley factory.
[The images shown prior to 1994 are for illustration only and do not depict the actual plane].
Initially built as an RAF trainer, it was exported to France after the war in 1946 and was re-registered F-BGFI. It became part of L'Armée de l'Aire in 1951. It is recorded as being written/struck off (radié) in 1976 and later returned to England where it was re-registered as G-OOSY in 1994.
After many years of restoration, it is flying again.
This plane has been re-created as an electric 1400mm RC model and (hopefully) it will fly in the near future. Video to follow!
