It's not ideal, but you can fit. We make some lowered seat brackets that really help our taller guys fit the cab of a classic truck.

17 years ago this week I had purchased my '68 C10 for a small price of $500.00. The guy who had it was going to part it out. It was a perfect running truck, and I couldn't see it being parted out. The body was in decent condition for the age. It had the large journal crank 327 with a Carter quadrajet 4bbl carb, front sway bar, TH400 trans, and HD rear leaf suspension with the 12 bolt axle. At the time I had no plans for it except to daily drive it. I've been offered a decent amount of money for it, but it's not for sale.

Its crazy how where you live has a huge impact on the value and prices on these trucks. I live and florida and most of these old trucks are rotted and full of bondo and are way overpriced but I know a guy in south florida who travels to alabama and buys mint condition squarebody chevys for dirt cheap and brings them back and parts them out and makes good money. He finds all the best deals in those backwoods places like rural alabama or rural Mississippi. The most amazing truck I seen that he found was a 78 silverado with 400sbc,factory wood floor fleet side bed, full gauges with tachometer, ac, and all moldings and trim accessories with orginal paint with absolutely zero rust and he got it for a insane deal.
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV 3 жыл бұрын
There are still deals out there and solid trucks too! You just have to keep a constant eye open.
@briang4470
@briang4470 3 жыл бұрын
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV there are some deals out there still but these trucks will never be as cheap as they were 10 or 15 years ago back when you buy a clean squarebody with no rust for under 1500 and now for a rusty shortbed that's full of bondo people usually want over 5000. The guy I know that buys them in Alabama finds nice ones with no rust for under 2000 and sometimes even under 1000. But alot of it has to do with the demand for classic vehicles where you live. I'm in florida so classic vehicles are always desirable and someone is always lined up and ready to buy even before the vehicle gets listed but if you travel out to some rural places it seems the best deals can be found out there or in places where hotrodding is not popular.

Dump some diesel fuel down the cylinders and let it sit a few days, get a fresh battery and some fuel and see if it'll fire! That's how you do it old school! let us know if that works, we'd love to hear the story.

I always thought the ‘62 Chevy truck grille was awful- they were adapting 4 headlight for 2, and it showed. Some bean counter at GM cut costs by going to single headlights, I’m presuming. GMC ran the handsome “dogbone” grille from 60-66 along with quad headlight.

That's a nice repair on that fender. Oh yeah, that's because you did that! Patch panels in fenders, rockers, floor pans, even cab corners are all things I've welded in before so doing it again on my current 65 C-20 wasn't a big deal. But I have a hole in the skin on top of my cab right next to the windshield in the corner and a few other places on the edge that I am going to have to tackle. I've had friends tell me to just use fiberglass and forget it. But if I was going to do that I may as well have left the rust alone and just clear coated the damn thing. And I may actually do that but it will be after I've killed the rust as best as I can so this truck can live to fight another 50 years. But I want to fix that roof and I want to repair it right but I don't really want to replace the entire top. So I'll just continue to hang out here and see if you're going to do any roof repair on this one.

Nice job except for one thing.. You didn't mention anything about checking the vin number.. I made that mistake with a 72 GMC K20. I thought it was a K20, but turns out that someone put a 2x4 body on a 4x4 frame. So, anyone looking to buy an old vehicle need to look up vin number for the vehicle your looking at.. The vin will tell you a few things like the engine and type (K or C).

Good advice. As soon as I find something I check on what’s available for parts. Old trucks it’s easy to find repo parts from China 🇨🇳 . But try finding little stuff for cars from the 70’s. They do not make window felts for 4 door Chevy Malibu’s or the rear door seal for the same car. You SOL. ☹️
