It's a bit of a shorter video, but I thought a nice, slow video would be welcome if, like me, you've spent this whole week preparing for and eating a ton of food. I'd love to know down below - what routine do you have for self care?

Oh my goodness! You (all) did this so well. I grew through my young childhood during the 50s, and this is just exactly the vibe of every house wife's dream. I'm afraid all too many if them felt like a failure because they didn't (couldn't!) actually follow such a thing, but they could read and dream. My mom was more sensible, and realized this was high fantasy, but she snuck in at least a few pampering activities when she could. Nostalgia to the max for me, and such eye candy!

When rolling my hair I like to use perm rods (they give a pin curl type curl) on the sides of my head and pin curls (using long bobby pins) for the back of my head which makes it much easier to sleep. For the front of my hair, I do a side parting and one stand up pin curl. I cover all of this with a hair net that I bought from the Dollar Tree and a satin bonnet also acquired from the Dollar tree. When I bathe, I set my hair along with the hair net and cover my hair with a shower cap.

The voiceovers came out amazing! Love it. I think taking 2-3 hours a week dedicated to self care, in whatever way works for you, is a great idea. I think today we've forgotten how important it is for a balanced life to take time to care for ourselves. Not for any outside expectations of a beauty, but to renew ourselves. That way we have energy and motivation for all the ways women give to others.

My goal is always 2 to 3 hours a DAY for beauty haha. I need to calm down a bit. Just focus on 30 minutes morning and night, and a three hour self care day once a week ❤

I find applying heat to the face relaxes any fine lines that we woman over 25 seem to have. And if you have ever seen a man getting a full barber shave they put a heated towel over his beard are and we all know men look younger longer. Fyi I do rince after a hot shower with cooler water to close my pores. But my face gets the heat before the toner. Thanks for those 1959s beauty tips! Love it!

Haha yes! I feel like maybe a combo of heat in some places and ice in others. I have larger pores so cold helps tighten those, but eye wrinkles might be helped by warmth!

Thinks I to myself 'oh, self care. I'll have me some of that.' Starts running bath. 3 year old hears. Attempt to stop 3 year old entering bathroom. 3 year old screams (never a good start to a relaxing experience). Give in, get in bath, where instead of languidly lounging in a froth of fragrant bubbles, sit as little one pours water over my head, and pats me with bubbles.

Piano too loud curls counter clockwise I hated it not authentic I want my money back 😉. Omg the best ever I absolutely loved this video. This couldn’t not be any cuter 😍😍 especially the end fantastic job from beginning to end 💕this beautiful routine seems like it would take me the whole day. I just got out of a bath I should have been in alone, but the tot found his way inside 🤣.

Such a fun video! I loved it! The routine looked so relaxing until I saw the outtakes 😂 Even though it might be outdated in some aspects, we definitely deserve to take time for ourselves to relax and refresh. Look forward to more videos in the series, Kristina!

I've started doing this in recent months. Once a week I take an injection that I have to numb my skin for (well, I don't HAVE to, I'm just a baby), and the numbing cream takes about two hours to work fully. So take a bath, and while the cream sets once I'm out, I do a facial and the like.

They are from Besame Cosmetics and based on vintage designs and actual vintage colors! The one I used was Victory Red which is based on a color from the 1940s

Living for this! Just a curious question. I noticed your cheeks are rather red in the video, the products you were using weren't irritating your skin were they? Mine is sensitive and I'd love to try this routine but don't want to risk a reaction. Any suggestions?

Oh, I have hormonal acne and naturally red cheeks so the combo of cold, acne, and just red skin anyway makes them redder :)

This is cute, but so not me. I guess you could say that I am the disheveled wife because I don't ever wear makeup or jewelry. I don't even have a tub in which to sit and soak. I also don't do curls. Curls are really nice, but too difficult to manage. My husband literally couldn't care less about what I look like. I could spend the entire day in my nightgown and slippers, and he wouldn't care. I could walk around the house in a burlap sack and he probably won't notice. Men are blind when it comes to their wives. They only care about what's for dinner and if the house is passably clean.
