I bought this truck along with two other 2 ton trucks a year ago off an online auction from Garry in Mansfield Pa. Since winter had set in,we decided to wait till it cleared up and had great weather. So this is the last one I brought home 970 miles away! When I got it here and really looking at it for the first time, I noticed that it had some of the original paper work along with the Owner Service Policy Which gave me the name of the person who bought it and the dealer it came from. The dealer was Baldwin Chevrolet Inc. out of Mansfield pa, and the buyer was Housewood Products Company and bought on September 13, 1951. When I found this, Looked up the name and found it and got a number and called the next day. A women answers the phone and im trying to explain to her what I had and all and she just got more confused and then suddenly a guy answers and said he may be able to help, after explaining it to him he answers back that he is the one that bought the truck. He was 25 when he bought the truck and is now 87 and still running the business! It was great to talk to the original owner and hopefully can get more details on the truck. Come to find out the 19,338 is the original miles!!!!

Too bad this truck wasn't sitting inside all those years. Sitting out in the elements is one of the toughest things on a vehicle.

A 51 6100 2-Ton would have originally had a babbit bearing 235, not 216. Very cool old truck.

I have a 1943 Chevrolet 1.5 ton Buffalo- C fire truck. I did the upholstery, rewiring and paint myself. It was made for the army. Slow.

Imagine the first time it was given for delivery. I think those days the owner used to use the vehicles for both for domestic as well as commercial purposes.

you sure that wasn't a tractor rather than a dump for the original owner? isn't that vacuum trailer control on steering column? just asking.
