That's a beautiful car and color. I didn't know that Cadillac had V-8 since 1914. Later they did build some six cylinder cars. I had a beautiful medium blue 1981 Eldorado with a six cylinder.

218 inches long, just 6 inches shorter than a 2019 Suburban. Beautiful auto, classic colors. What a dream to own and drive. To me that was the pinnacle of Cadillac design.

Frank, love your baby what a beauty! If I owned it I'd pile in 4 or 5 Gold Diggers and sing "Everybody's Got to Love Somebody Sometime" once every trip. What a beautiful car!

Dont you mean: money burns a hole in my pocket. Lmao! I may be 21, but hell Dinos songs and attitude make me wish I was born in the 50s as there are so many rules and double standards nowadays when it comes to dating women whereas back then you could speak freely without fear of prosecution etc...

The era of the classy & beautiful Cadillac. It lasted from 1949 until about 1968.

Lots of power for the day, 210HP. That 331 V8 really moved the heavy beast. Every part of trim is bolted on, not double sided tape! The bumper sure helped to cross an intersection. Nothing like the sound they make from the tail pipes. Always hot on the feet when driving, could have used some insulation.

We owned a ‘59 two door coupe. I recall details like I saw them yesterday. No options on ours, was a base model. I passed my driving test in it, including parallel parking. The quality of materials in those days was v good...vinyl, fabrics, chrome, paint. Almost zero plastic, instead, stainless steel, aluminum, painted and chromed metal. It was always garaged. I still recall the new car smell, which it retained for years.

Love it! I had a couple, not the Deville, no power anything. 331 V8, gas cap under the drivers tail light, push the round reflector. Mine was the same color but with a white roof. Love to own a '53 again.

Dean was swimming in money by then, as he and Jerry Lewis were in the 8th year of their 10 yr partnership and they were the hottest item in show biz...and Dean loved his cars, and owned dozens of them over the decades....

The front bumpers evolved from modest bumper guards as on this 1949 example to the boob bumper bullets starting in 1952

I think the V front and rear should be silver and not gold. Can someone correct me.

It’s either a series 62 (base model) or a De Ville (upscale, with options for that model). Can’t be both.
@seanmeisner31904 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if I have this right, but I think the De Villes became Series 63 in 1959. Before then they were Series 62 cars. The only way to tell a 62 from a 1950 or newer Coupe De Ville is the discreet badging which they moved every year or two. On this one it's at the base of the C-pillar.
@seanmeisner31904 жыл бұрын
Addendum : The only way to tell from the outside. As Mr. Gutowski notes, Coupe De Villes were fancier and better--optioned inside.
