This 1954 Speedster chassis number 80005 is the fifth Speedster produced, and is one of twelve pre-production Speedsters with hand-built body panels by the craftsmen at Reutter Karosserie. It is also the oldest Speedster outside of the Porsche museum, and the only Speedster produced with Terracotta paintwork.
We were honored with the opportunity to perform a meticulous Concours restoration, and it will be making its debut on the lawn at the Amelia Island Concours this weekend.
This video highlights some of the team who were instrumental in accomplishing this multi-year restoration.

masterpiece... and truly an amazing restotation. congratulations from a guy growed up in Brescia where parents were use to bring children to see the 1000 miglia every year. I'm also a proud owner of an ivory/red 1957 t1 coupe that I immensely love. I know there is a terracotta speedster here in Italy, not so early but I believe it's original. the owner didn't know about yours...

Looks a bit red! Blue leather seats must have been done wrong on last restoration! Turbo vent rings on wheels gone also! Headlight grills?Sure looks nice! Good luck at the show!

That is the color grading in post production- the building that final assembly was being done in has mixed lighting (LED and Flourescent). In person it is the same reddish-brown that you'd see on a terracotta tile or pot. The Kardex and Reutter build sheets both list the interior material as "bast", which is the basketweave textured material used in its original construction and now in this restoration. A letter from Porsche back in 1987(?) incorrectly "confirmed" the interior color as blue leather. The Turbo vent rings on the wheels were an addition by the husband and wife team who performed the previous restoration back in 1988.
