I love classic cars, I always have. I'm restoring a 1974 Toyota FJ45 currently and the build is taking longer than I would like. Check out the video series here.
• How to Restore a 40 Se...
In the meantime, I am not keen on driving a crappy car while I complete the FJ45. So in a flash of brilliance (or madness), I bought a fully restored 1956 Chevrolet pickup truck. This week on Jafffa Adventures, I do a walk through of that 1956 Chevy truck and show you what I found.
I share with you some routine maintenance items on the vehicle, as well as share with you some items that need to be fixed before I take the Chev on the road as my daily driver full time.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride...and of course keep the shiny side up!

OK ….. This is my favourite KZfaq channel!!!! Loved the injection install (you’ll get good coin for the carby) must admit I was waiting to hear the air horns in action. You need to do a video on the clear coat as I have the same minor issues with my 200 series. Great video Terry. Mike

Thanks Mike, you are very kind mate. I sold the carby for $500 which was not too bad. I’ll definitely do a vid on sanding clear coat but that will be a ways off as the orange peel actually masks the dirt and dust, which is perfect on a daily driver😉. Thanks for watching and commenting mate, I really do appreciate it 👍😎

Watching your channel, I also have a 1955 Chevy truck with a 700r trans. Do you have a lock out converter box for adjustment if so where do you set the dial knob when you are driving. Nice truck thank Len

@@JafffaAdventures I’m certainly no expert but wouldn’t you be better off making a fan shroud so the fan is more efficient rather than a thermo?
@JafffaAdventures
@JafffaAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
It’s a good question Shane and I’m no expert either. I think if I did run into issues a fan shroud would be my first go to point before a thermo fan probably because I could make more at home here with material I have on hand. Here’s hoping I don’t run into issues, so far so good. Thanks for sharing mate, I sincerely appreciate it 😎👍

Fantastic video Terry. Really enjoyed the banter and clear descriptions of everything you did. However, I am a little confused as to how the carburettor replacement with fuel injection works. I thought that fuel injection went directly into each cylinder. Or have I got something wrong? Cheers mate.
@JafffaAdventures
@JafffaAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words David, I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. There are basically two types of EFI, individual injectors (usually one per cylinder) like you were referring to and a throttle body injection like I have installed. The advantage of the TBI is it just directly replaces the carby, no need to change intake manifolds or have fuel rails set up. It works very similar to a carby, fuel is delivered to the throttle body with a fuel pump, and the computer meters out how much fuel is delivered into the Venturi based on what the sensors are telling it. What it does not use gets returned to the tank and recycled. I trust that clarifies things a little mate. Cheers😎👍

Nice truck! I love the stance. Do you know what year Camaro subframe was used? I've been waffling on using Camaro, Mustang II, or just drop the original axle on my 55. I lean on doing Camaro subframe..
@JafffaAdventures
@JafffaAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
Yes the stance is awesome. I’m not sure what Camaro subframe was used but judging by the brakes and steering box it looks late 60’s early 70’s. The car handles remarkably well so I certainly rate that side of things. Thanks for watching mate 😎👍
