I bought one bc we had a bear problem and We had a kid that would have made an excellent snack. I heard on the radio the ad for this gun. Immediately I called the store to reserve it. By the time I reached the store, 3 guys had called and offered even more $, but the salesman kept his word.

same make and model was used in a shooting in Ottawa, Canada a couple decades ago, I picked one up by accident, bought 4 long guns and the 760 was one of them, I was just helping a friend of a friend of a friend, nice rifle and the other 2 were a Winchester 70, and a Cooey 710, all 3 30-06 P.S. 760 came with 2 Mags, 4 and 10 round

i still see more of these in the northern wi deer woods in november than any other single gun. We have 4 or 5 760 or 7600s. few in 3006 one in 308 and a 243. at one time at our der camp in the 80s before my time, there were 8 hunters all using them. one guy had a 7400. all in the classic 3006. i do love these gjuns. have taken more deer with these than any other. works really well for hunting. accurate for the first mag, quick follow up shots, easy to use. love the video.

Thank you! I was surprised how well she shot, especially with PPU M1 Garand ammo, which is not as hot as than modern .30-06. I am curious though how she would do with modern .30-06 ammo 😉 I did have a difficult time shooting prone for the video, of course, this rifle is not meant for that, but I do see how well a pump-action rifle would do in the field/off-hand/hunting, especially if you have a Remington 870 already! hehe. Thanks for watching!
@corycarlson8712

with a higher mag scope and remington corelokt you should be able to keep a little over an inch at 100 yards. with our 243 7600 it shoots well under an inch at 100. they do heat up very quickly and that pump action is terrible laying down, but they do great when you are actually in the field. shoot, pump and right back on target. they are super nostalgic here in wisconsin. i bet every single hunting family has one in the safe. its so rare to have someone actually do a video on them. i didnt reslize until a few years ago that this was the same model of gun that allegedly killed mlk. i agree, lots of questions still up in the air there. really enjoyed this video. im sure you will shoot better as you get more rounds through it. that was a good showing either way. if you lived in a ban state you could use this with a red dot for self defense. always wanted to try that haha. have a good one.@@HangInThereCat

You know I'm glad you mentioned that, I did notice the 760 gets extremely hot after shooting several rounds! I remember the side of the receiver was very hot, I could even feel heat radiating from it when shooting! Yeah everyone seems to be using Remington Corelokt for these rifles, I'll get a box and try them out. Thank goodness I'm in Texas! LOL, however a red dot on a pump-action 760 sounds tempting .. haha. Appreciate you!

Great video, beautiful old rifle! I love all the remingtons and I have done quite a bit of research on them myself, however I do have to correct you on the issue with the serial number. I have owned five Remington rifles myself, two of which were made in the 1950's, and NONE of them had a serial number that ended in the year that it was manufactured. On the Remington society website as well as many forms that I've looked over all say that the only way to identify when a Remington was built was by the barrel codes. The fact that yours just happens to end and the numbers 56 is purely coincidence. I once had a Remington 760 built in 1954 and the last two digits of its serial number was 81. All-in-all, great video keep them coming!
@HangInThereCat
@HangInThereCat 10 ай бұрын
Yeah I got the manufacture year (1956) from emailing Remington the serial number and model information. I also emailed them for JER's gamemaster and gave me the manufacture year (1966) as well. Not sure coincidence or not but try emailing Remington your serials and see what they say: Info(at)remarms.com. It's hard to argue against what the manufacture says though 😉 Appreciate you watching! Next episode may be a little delayed but at least all the shooting is done!!!

Timney Remington 870 trigger kit (compatible with 760 and 7600) for a 3-4 lb crisp trigger. Also, use a rear bag and a lower front bag and you'll cut the groups in half.
@HangInThereCat
@HangInThereCat 6 ай бұрын
I'll look into in the Timney Trigger Kit, thanks! Also, I've been meaning to try different bag sizes for the front, as some rifles I'm straining my body to make the sight picture consistent. Rear bag, I'm using is a sock filled with airsoft pellets, but for some rifles way too low, and just use it to support the bottom of wrist. I agree, groups will be a lot smaller with a proper setup!
