I grew up with Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, Gabby Hayes, and Pat Brady. The program came on Sunday mornings around 11 or 11:30 am. The Adventures of Robin Hood either came on before or after The Roy Rogers Show. This program is a welcome relief from all the turmoil going on. Young people should look and learn what real, clean entertainment is all bout.

I grew up around Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. My grandfather worked at Republic Studios and I spent many a day watching the movies being filmed out at Iverson's Ranch. Roy was a real gentleman and Dale as nice as she appears. Roy would show up at the studio Christmas party and the kid, whose folks worked on his movies would go nuts.

Roy is knocked out and the outlaws don't steal his sleeker, fancier cowboy duds for themselves nor his horse and saddle ; must be very selective outlaws ?

It seems Dale was cool with it. Trigger had been with Roy before he even met her IIRC and was one incredible horse. Word is he actually could hold a pen in his mouth and make an "autograph" (really more of an x-mark on the paper).

This might be the dumbest thing ever. Everything in the show says late 1800's, then this guy comes driving in, in a 1950's Jeep. Nobody ever says to him...'where did you get that nifty thing?'

Although this was a great show, it was difficult for me to watch because of the sheer lunacy of Pat Brady. He played one of most worthless and useless characters ever written into a show. He was nothing but a buffoon that did nothing to enhance the show or make it better. And what made it even worse was that stupid jeep that was suppose to have a mind of its own. If it was up to me I would have written that character out after the first couple of episodes.

Eddie- You do not understand the Time Era that this show was written in, nor do you know the population it was targeted for. You are displaying your age with remarks like yours. You have no conception of the reality of Pats car problems since you have never lived without the resources or accesses you (quite obviously) have been privileged with. You have no idea. There were written in the late '30.s and '40.s, the last tv show being 1957. Keep in mind that, even though they were written in the 40.s, they were DEPICTING life in the West, of the 1910.s and '20.s. TO use in the '40.s, it showed "old life way back when..." It was a delightful was to get out of my grand- father's depression due lack of good work, (railroad tracker) and uncle's deafness due to measles. Hun- You have no idea of what you speak. 😐 M. Illinois.

@@mwatts-riley2688 I guess we jut have a difference of opinion. Reguardless of when these scripts were written or what audience they were targeting , a buffoon is a buffoon is a buffoon and that is what the Pat Brady character portrayed. A buffoon. I rest my case.
