From a TV series made in 1958. Kind of like "Little House on the Prairie."
The film material was very dry, warped, smelled of vinegar syndrome and simply wouldn't scan well at all. But we gave it our best to preserve the video. Bare with us and enjoy!

I can remember this western from sometime in the fifties. I was very young and didn’t really appreciate it being so young. Good show.

You are the finest preservationist I have ever seen. If this is an example of something that would not scan well, I would sure like to see something that does. Since this channel has been around, I am seeing 50's TV look like it was filmed yesterday. Keep up the good work.

I don’t remember ever seeing this show back in the 50’s and 60’s when I was growing up but I really enjoyed watching this episode. The quality was very good! Thanks for posting and I hope you will post more of “Buckskin”.

Thanks. We are always looking for films like this, even if it could be loaned to us to scan and returned. Films like this we would scan at no charge if we can post it here. We sure hope to come across more films to preserve.

Scotty Morrow- still with us. Trivia: As a military photographer in the Air Force, he once had to jump about 50 feet out of a burning helicopter over the Mekong River delta during the Vietnam war. He had heavy-duty camera gear in one hand and an M-16 rifle in the other during the splashdown.

We’re losing a lot of film these days. People don’t realize how fragile movie film gets with age. It’s mostly an organic material made from gelatin that decays over time.

It was on in prime time in the late 1950s, and NBC ran it in network syndication in the summer of 1960 ... in the afternoon, around 4:00PM or 4:30PM Eastern Time [US]. The star, Tom[my] Nolan, was born Bernard Girouard in Montreal [Quebec]. In his eventual adulthood, he became a high school principal, which shows how far he fell.

It received another prime time play around 1964 when NBC placed it between Disney & Bonanza, Sundays at 8:30 PM. That is how I saw it for the first time.

@@superharry484 NBC aired reruns in the Summer of 1965, as a "Summer replacement" for the series, "Branded", which, in turn, had replaced the cancelled, "Bill Dana Show".
