I'm 6'3" and from experience i would hate that cage. Mainly the front hoop because it comes down and crowds your leg and foot room. It is possible to come down to the dash and then switch to plate to aleviate the foot/leg room problem. Very similar to the way some cages are on a TJ when the tube stops at the dash and then converts to plate and follows down beside the dash. Nice shop :)

I've always loved those old jeeps. Three problems: I'm 6'4" (I didn't know you could move the seat back like that though), everyone else wants one and prices are a little nuts, and around here these old jeeps are so rusty you'd be lucky if it doesn't break into multiple pieces on the first bump.

Yea same for this guy, he is 6'2 and it was really uncomfortable for him. Its small for sure. And yes, other folks have said these are all rusted out most of the time... this one is in really nice shape over all

Pretty weak by mounting only to the body? We always used brackets under the body and attached to the FRAME of the vehicle. Certainly better than an old rusty body for mounting a cage. After all, it is YOUR head it's protecting!

Nice work. Them old jeeps are fun on their wheels but not so much on their tops. Roll cage is sure going to make it safer. I have to agree on the fuel tank placement with some other viewers. I would move it underneath with a skid plate. Not only safer but comfort also.

Very cool project. Why did you choose to TIG it, rather than MIG it?
@turbocobra5 жыл бұрын
I tig weld everything I can. Most roll cages in race cars and competitive vehicles are tig welded

You are pronouncing Willy's wrong it is pronounced Willis the Y is a short I sound
@theamatureproАй бұрын
Yeah, you're right, however, saying it wrong is so common, it's accepted by everyone but arrogant Jeep snobs and those who always have to assert they know everything to feel better about themselves. My family name is Swedish but the pronunciation changed when we moved and became Americans because no American is going to know how to pronounce it correctly, so why try to force it? If you knew anything about etymology you'd understand the natural evolution of words. Look up the history of the month name February. You'll learn it's been pronounced many different ways through history and that nobody says it correctly because it's nearly impossible with American English. Another is Porsche. Only the rich who own them or those who envy the rich who own them add the soft ā at the end as the Germans do. In their language that's how it's naturally pronounced, but in American English it's incorrect. Besides, it's sounds better the American way. Imposing dialects on another culture's language is absurd because it leads to comments like yours putting someone down for doing absolutely nothing wrong. He obviously didn't give you the attention you wanted, but I'm sure it annoyed him for a bit. Why do that to someone you don't know? If it's just fun for you, please get help that's not healthy and it's borderline psychotic. Go study etymology instead. You could use it and it's better to educate yourself than be an Internet troll.

Okay now that you said all that he's still saying it wrong
